It isn't impossible to conceive of (even for someone like me who picked the Lakers to win the series) but Boston's demolition of the Lakers in most of game 2 and their dominating comeback in game 4 make it so obvious that the Celts are the much better team. Yesterday's comeback reminds me of the whipping the Celts put on the Lakers during the regular season game in LA where the home team wore the short shorts in the 1st half. plutoblue11, you said it man!
I really hope Vujacic (and to some extent this applies to Odom) are scapegoated and off the team next year. #1 Vujacic is an incredibly irritating punk. #2 he actually isn't a bad player and has upside. I think the Lakers would miss these guys and I hope Vujacic signs elsewhere because of the way this season looks to be ending and to get away from Kobe. Cleveland or Utah or NO should really through a big part their MLE toward Vujacic and see what happens.
Apparently the Spurs are very high on him. I'd much rather him stay with the Lakers then go to the Spurs.
I'm in Laker Land in Orange County, eating some leftover Carl's Jr. No one has said A THING about the Lakers. I mean NOTHING from anybody. Even the usual commenters havent brought them up. Not even a "Lakers F***ing BLEW IT", "Its not over yet, just win the next one", "Man, Sasha sucked last night".... it either was too crushing & they're resigned to their fate. Or they're putting extra focus toward the next game
I live in Orange County too. I actually am a Lakers fan (I'm sorry guys). And I have not left my house today (I was off today). I haven't texed any of my friends about the Lakers today either. The same friends whom I was texting continuously the last few weeks. I think the Lakers fun might be growing the stages of shock/denial right now.
Actually he was replaced by Jim Jackson, who was a better player than Posey. He improved the team and ensured a playoff spot in '03-'04. Pike/Griffin both sucked but neither of them were meant to replace Posey.
Not accuate. At the time we were deciding not to match Posey, we signed Pike and Griffin to replace him. Jim Jackson was an unexpected later summer FA who fell into our laps only because his other team (Sac I think) and him surprisingly could not reach a deal (Jackson had always worn out his welcome despite skills superior to Posey, I give you that). We got him way below market value because other options were dried up, we never planned for him. Further, he was good for what, 1.5 seasons, James has been a contributing role player for how long?
I agree. But I'd rather have BOTH. Posey is one of the better bench swingman in the league for a high quality team.
