pierce and garnett had 4 points at half and the celtics were only down 6....they both were horrible(kg had more than 10 points, but 6-21 from the floor) and only lost by 6, and allen is back...

I don't see what was so encouraging for LA here...odom still was MIA and gasol as well, so if that continues, boston wins the series.

I definitely don't see the lakers winning 4 straight, they don't play the defense and rebounding game well enough.

I feel the same way. If either Peirce or KG had a decent game, Celtics win. You know these two aren't going to continue shooting like this. Boston takes this series.

I can't say the game was boring...of course the offense (especially from Pierce, KG, Odom, Pau) was pathetic but it was a close game.

People, those of you who discount the Lakers need to remember 2006.

The Miami Heat were down 2-0 and trailed the Mavs by 13 points with 6 1/2 minutes left in game 3. The Mavs let the game slip away and ended up losing 4 in a row. Also remember game 2, where the Heat made a furious comeback in Dallas and fell short at the end (just like the Lakers did).

Not saying it will happen, but I won't be surprised one bit if the Lakers rip off 3 more in a row to win the series. They shouldn't have won last night.

Unless odom or gasol bother showing up, I would, sorry. I'm not discounting a jackson coached team, but what have you seen that suggests odom or gasol will bring their big boy games to the finals? I've seen nothing out of them, and the lakers can't win it all with only kobe...

The celtics are the better team because of their defense and ability to rebound the ball. Plus those mavs were mental midgets, I don't think boston is the same way...

One of these two teams will win the championship, but either team looks like champion.

KG, PP, & RA and the two teams' benches all looks like penises in cold water on the road - they just shrink. We also need a magnifer to find Gasol and Odom.

Two years ago, there was a poll here about the Heat vs. Mavs. Most chose the Heat (including me). After the first two games, people who chose the Mavs ripped and ranted on how stupid it was for anyone to think the Heat could have won the series. 4 games later, it was over. Nobody in their right mind would have predicted it after 0-2.

Of course Odom and Pau have to pull it together. If they do, the Celts could be in big trouble. If not, this thing is over in 5 or 6.

You are right, anything can happen, I just haven't seen anything that would indicate odom will get his head out of his ass is all. gasol has shown flashes, at least, but odom is a zombie out there and will struggle to stay out of foul trouble with the matchup he has defensively..

I still think boston wins it if only one of the 2 show up, the lakers will need both odom and gasol to play well to win 3 of the next 4 games imho...

Lakers will win one more game in LA, and maybe a game in Boston, but thats it, I say Celtics in 6 or 7.

I was one who picked the Heat as well. And didn't write off the Spurs vs NO. But those two teams, like the Celts, were the tougher, more half court oriented, and superior defense team (typical playoff success formula). This time we are asking the better offense weaker defensive team to win 3 or 4 strait. That is harder to fathum.

Not saying it can't happen, but I doubt it. I think the Lakers have an outside shot to win the series, but most likely it would be game 7. I still wouldn't change by original Celts in 6 prediction.

One other factor in the Heat/Mavs series is the Heat made major adjustments. #1 they just stopped trying to force it to Shaq (while the Mavs were getting him in uncormtable position and stealing the ball a lot); #2 ran the offense inside out versus Wade #3 played a lot more Zo + more Posey on Dirk.

In the Lakers game 3 I didn't see fundamental change. Well maybe sagging more off of Rondo, but there are counters to that next game. Basicially I think the Celts got just terrible offensive play from Pierce and their 3 headed PG monster, and not much better offensive play from KG. That is what chucked the game away more than what the Lakers.

If the spread is still like a whack Lakers -9.5, take the Celts again for sure (Celts are 3-0 vs the spread in this series--the betters are using their hearts not their minds). Game 4 should be close to even money, Lakers by a basket at the most.

It was boring because my side lost dammit! How could it have been more exciting? The crowd and media were up and at em. It doesn't get much better than a close game in front of a line of legends.
