The Lakers got calls, like this in every series and playoffs, nobody said a word.

Gasol is so damn soft and Odom is non-existent. Celtics are too deep a deam for LAL to handle.

Celtics almost choked on that one. Hopefully the lakers can come back next game with the same game plan they had within those last minute of 4quarter....

That's why I don't want to spend the MLE on Landry when you can find players like him late in the draft every other year (Milsap, Maxiell, Bass, Powe). Landry shouldn't demand that much, he should know he can be replaced.

Huge key to that "gameplan" is that the Celtics seriously let off the gas and were playing against the clock and the score trying to coast to the win.

Fortunately they were able to shift back just in the nick of time...

ESPN-ABC is trying too hard to make Paul Pierce a legend. He is NOT better than Larry Bird, that was a ridiculous statement by Mark Jackson. Bird won championships.
And Mark Breen was actually pretty honest when he was saying "no appearance of any knee injury at all." The puss didn't hurt his knee.

Lakers would have won this game if the officiating was even on both sides. Too many hearsay calls.

Phil did whine a little in his press conference, but the truth is the Celtics were the aggressors -- by far, and the calls have historically gone the way of the aggressor.

The Lakers have been on the other side of the equation MANY times (See Game 6 WCF vs Sac). No excuses. Lakers got seriously outplayed the majority of the game and were fortunate that a lackadaiscal Celtic team let them back in at the end (where you saw the aggressiveness shift to the Lakers side).

I agree with you, it was ok and the fouls Kobe got were mostly well deserved, tonight was the worst reffed game i have ever seen, it was like the kirilenko flop for 50 minutes

The Lakers should try double teaming and leaving Rajon Rondo open and see if he can beat you, which I doubt. He does not look like he wants to shoot the basketball and his shots looked terrible the few times he shot it. The other role players (Perkins, Brown, Posey, and Powe) need to be resepected, because they've shown that they can beat you.

I just got home...I watched the game at a bar close to my house with a ton of people, rooting for both teams, and everyone had a hella good time with that great comeback and it was intense...then I come back and read this game thread.

You know, it's funny how much you can enjoy a game when you're not constantly b****ing and moaning about referees, fixes, and unfairness. You guys should try it sometime. I promise, it's much more fun than whining!

When you ignore the facts that A)the Lakers shot jumpers all game long (the real reason they didnt shoot free throws), B) you're talking about the Lakers (a team that has literally benifited from referees more than any other team in history) as well as the fact that refs missed calls both ways (Radman travel was blatant), it's easy to blame referees all the time.

Seriously. Relax and enjoy...there was a lot of great things to take from this game.

PS Pierce definitely milked that knee injury in game 1. But not as much as ABC is milking it now.

    One-sided officiating = David Stern.

I hate to see the Lakers lose to such blatantly biased calls. The league is fixed. I hate to admit it.

If you've been watching the Lakers in seasons prior to this one I'm surprised you hadn't already come to this conclusion as they have been the #1 benefit of biased calls this league has ever seen. :)

I gotta admit the refs are in favour of Boston and Lakers can't get calls. Whoever says the refs missed calls "both ways" is either blind or doesn't watch the game. Radman's travelling is a rare occasion that LAL actually gets the benefits of refs' dumbness. But then again, I don't care who wins the Finals so I can still enjoy the game and don't get pissed by the officiating.

LOL this just makes me laugh. After years of getting all the favorable calls, you would hate to see them lose when it's going against them? lolllllllll

Not just prior seasons, but the prior series. Good grief, folks.

The Lakers screwed themselves over tonight by not forcing the action in the paint and being overall the passive team. That type of effort is never going to get you calls -- it never has.

That said, it is the pinnacle of hypocrisy for the Lakers to EVER complaina about biased officiiating. As far as I'm concerned they could have every call go against them for the next five seasons and historically things still wouldn't be evened out. :p

Lakers and Laker fans alike, sit down; shut up and see if you can come with a better effort next time.

True that. Brent Barry call was absolutely ridiculous (I should say non-call).
