I think Powe is for real. He didn't do anything when the Celts exploded on their ridiculous start when their starters were logging very heavy minutes. It's a good thing for them he was able to pitch in when called on in the 2nd half of the season. He was spectacular quite a few times and I'm sure most of us remember him when the Celts broke our win streak. Comparing him to Landry, he has much better NBA instincts, but that could be because of experience. He is also able to put the ball on the floor, which Landry doesn't. But Landry has a jumper (which needs to improve). Next year, I can see Landry being very similar to Powe, but with a more consistent role.
The Lakers should be up by 10-15 points right now. Not that I'm a LAkers fan but the refs have been atrocious. If any game were to be rigged, this'd be it.
LMAO is Vlad in a dunk contest where dribbling is not required . Omg that was hilarious and he's got like a 2 inch vertical. ahahaha. KOBE TIME!!!!!!!
These refs have been horrible on both ends now. That wasn't a foul on PP and PP did not get fouled on that drive.
Agreed, and that's the problem I have going back to the Fisher/Barry situation. There are far too many examples of NBA officials calling these little touch fouls -- even in the last minute of playoff games -- for me to accept the "no blood, no foul" rationale that a lot of folks tried to use then.
Yeah, but I still like our chances against them if we are healthy. The Lakers don't have someone like Yao that you can throw the ball to on the block and they have to double.
the refs won the game for the Celtics today...It's okay I think the Lakers have gained some momentom or some confidence going into L.A.Kobe should guard Pierce next game.He did in the 4th and Lakers almost won...
the first two games have to give the lakers some confidence. i mean they get outhustled in game 1 and lose a close game. in game 2 they play terribly with some uneven officiating, and they still manage to make it a nailbiter. i don't see the lakers dropping any at home. lakers in 6.
I was right. It took a collective team effort by the Lakers doing a to get them back in the game but there was obviously too much from Boston.
except for 15 seconds here or there, i only tuned back in in the last minute (what the hell happened?) but i was amazed that paul pierce was bailed out on an out of control drive for 2 free throws on boston's biggest possession of the game, when they absolutely had to have some points. but i bet the lakers got all the free throws up to that point in the 2nd half. that 38-10 stat ABC put up was probably some sort of lie. 38 to 10 advantages are common in playoff games, right?
I think the Pistons felt "confident" after losing game 5 in Boston and we know what happened next game. That was an incredibly weak finish by the Celts but it was too late in the game when they stopped playing defense. Nothing that happens in LA will surprise me except I don't think the Celts will sweep. I can see it 2-1 either way or the Lakers winning all 3.
