the only good news for the lakers is i'm not sure they can play much crappier. the problem is i don't think they'll play much better.
Great second half, the drama/intensity was everything fans expected from this series. I know it's premature, but I can't help but wonder if the Lakers can match the intensity and tenacity of the Celtics. The Lakers just strike me as a lot more 'finesse' than physical; it's almost like the Mavericks versus the Heat all over again. Can the Celtics 'roughen up' the Lakers on their way to a title (in a similar manner the Heat eventually did to the Mavs a couple of years ago)? Will be interesting to see the way this series unfolds. It's good to see some new blood in the finals for a change; enough of the freakin' Spurs, the fans were turning off their TV sets for a reason.
Ah, good stuff. Epic Game 1. Also, this forum should be empty of Lakers (and especially Kobe) fanboys for a while. Wow, that couldn't have gotten much better
this is why kobe is nowhere near MJ. MJ dominates the finals and elevates his game. kobe hasn't played well in the finals for the past 8-9 finals games.
N.Storm, let's hope stays that way, Im getting sick of Kobe thread come up every 10 minutes. You would think this is a Lakers' board.
i agree with you, i hate how they are starting to compare him to MJ when he is obviously not the same.
he's nowhere close. but of all the perimeter players today, he's the only one deserving of being in the discussion though.
The Lakers should all stand in a big circle, then turn to their right. Each player should kick the guy in front of him in the behind about 50 times, very hard. They let one get away and the Celtics dodged a bullet. I'm glad the Celts won but, as I see it, the Lakers are the better team and just didn't play like they are capable of. The Celts were no great shakes at all. At no point in time did they make the Lakers crumble; it more the Lakers making poor decisions. To your question, the Lakers should still win the series. It's very possible they will figure the Celts out and run off a string of games. tigermission1, remember what happened when the Lakers went to San Antonio in game 3. They just didn't look ready to face them in a hostile environment. Next game, they raised it up a notch.
Now THAT was an NBA Finals game! Not the crap we've been watching for the past decade. I can't wait for Game 2.
