Cena making jabs at The Rock makes me believe that he will show up a few times before Wrestlemania. Maybe not every week but he will be there every couple of weeks.
Yea , I didn't get that part. So triple H and Undertaker stopped wrestling for awhile or something? I noticed he also did the "suck it" gesture, D-generation X come back?
I just watched a DVR'd RAW from 2/21. John Cena was the opening act and once his music hit all you hear is little girls and little boys screaming. It was so sad...I was shaking my head in amazement. Like someone mentioned, when the Rock hits all you hear is adults screaming. The Rock mocking John Cena's "you can't see me" was gold hahaha
Dude, wrestling is for the kids. Always has been. The only time it wasn't geared towards kids was during the Attitude Era. So why are you amazed? I never understood the John Cena hate from grown ass men. It's for the kids, and the kids love Cena. That is what wrestling is all about.
As a fan of both I'm rather torn. I think Cena is nothing but gold most of the time. I also feel like the fact that they are from different eras of Wrestling it makes it hard to look and give a true comparison. Remember Cena is of the PG era of wrestling, where everything has to be clean and appropriate. The whole "shove it up your candy ass" routine wouldn't really fly on a consistent basis in the WWE right now. The Rock got away with it on Raw recently because he is the Rock. Cena has to take a different path, that's why they play down the thuganomics stuff, they play down the innuendos, and they clean up the act. They have to, especially if Linda wants to take another run at Politics any time soon. The whole "you can't see me" routine is great in my opinion, athletes do crap like that all the time in sports, why can't they in sports entertainment? What kind of annoys me about Wresltemania this year it seems like all it is is a passing of the torch event. Undoubtedly The Rock was chosen not only for buyrates but to put Cena over as the new king of the WWE. Hunter and Taker are slated together most likely so that Hunter can end Taker's undefeated streak and get a major push. These "dream matches" are somewhat half assed. As much as I'd like to see a lot of the WWF Attitude era, I feel like what we see now on the WWE is a good product. If I had kids I wouldn't be at all worried about plopping them in front of the TV to watch the product. Now, if you flip the channel over to Spike and watch that whole TNA product it's disgusting. How would a 6 year old know what it means when you ice someone? Jeff Hardy is a creepy creepy guy. Mr. Kennedy, I mean Anderson, calling himself Mr. A**hole? The WWE has come a long way since the attitude era, and I have to say the product they put out is good (for wrestling at least).
Me and a few friends actually toasted the return of the Rock while we were all drunk. Then we asked each other random questions and interrupted each other by saying "IT DOESN'T MATTER (insert question we asked here)!!!" paying patronage to of course the famous Rock gimmick 'What's your name?" "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS!!" Good times.
Nice job Rock but not being there sucks. VERY curious where they are taking this, I mean Cena already has a match and they are pushing his feud. Off topic - That HHH/Taker match is screaming for Austin to be the special guest ref. Austin, Rock, HHH and Taker on the same card would be tremendous.
I'm just amazed at how much wrestlng has fallen since the Attitude Era. I feel fortunate to have experienced it. It's sad really, DX's antics wouldn't fly today as well as The Godfather and his ho's. None of these "superstars" these days strike me as charismatic. Cena and his "degree in thuganomics" is just lame lame lame.
It's clean. What's wrong with that? You want dirty ish like that, watch TNA. Do you really want your 6 yr old son asking you what ho's are? Or what HHH means when he says Vince McMahon loves rooster? Part of the reason people say wrestling is for kids is because it used to be all poop humor and sexual innuendos. Now its actually wrestling, its fake, its scripted, but they still put their butts on the line and entertain the fans that go to the shows. I can live without the dirty jokes...
So has the Rock shown up on any shows since that first promo? Sounds like just a video tonight, huh? My friends and I might get WM just for old times sake.
I was pretty disappointed we had to watch the Rock via satellite, although I had a feeling it would happen like that. Party of me was still waiting for him to come out and slam Cena across the cage.
I was real surprised and disappointed to see that Miz became 1- a wrestler, and 2- actual champ. I thought he was just some scrub interviewer in the attitude era. Even in his own house, with nobody around to pump him up, Rock still bringing it 100%. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pj_1Zg9e3Ac" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Why in the world does Triple H need a major push? He's the bosses daughter. That would be exactly passing the torch. H has been there a while as well. I highly doubt Takers ends but if they do let H end it, I will never defend WWE again. Anybody else but Triple H.
Fixed. ROCK is going to be special guest ref in the Cena/Miz match. He's not going to be wrestling folks. Like it matters anyways. Nothing special about Rock wrestling, the magic is when he's on the mic
