Oh no disrespect intended, I was a big fan of taker. I was making the point that the WWE had to resurrect him in the same played out storyline because they ran out of characters, personalities, and stories that kept us hooked. Mannnnnnnnn I remember feeling the exact same way in the late 90s, went over to friends' houses to see if we could catch the first 30 min sneak previews of ppvs.....i didn't even have cable so i used to miss all Raws and had to wait until those saturday night replay shows or telemundo/univison replays of raw. Let's not forget this man, The Rock, single handedly had a whole damn tv show named after him (Smackdown) that finally brought me WWF on network television on Thursday nights.
While we're here lets go back down memory lane, shall we? <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/dTXkMDZSN7w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Was wondering the same. He's previously publicly states that he had no desire in returning past guest appearances. Was also surprised they let him dog on the current set of stars the way he did, because his comments were dead on.
Just watched it. All I can say is wow. I haven't watched wrestling since Rock left and I was sitting here laughing. Dude still has it. Not sure if I'll start watching again, but the fact that I'm even considering it is big.
I started watching wrestling in 1989. I grew up with Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Ted Debiase, Rick Rude, Brett Hart, Shawn Michaels and Jake the Snake. I saw the beginnings of The Undertaker, Mick Foley, Stone Cold, Triple H, and the Rock. I stopped watching around the time the Rock left, not because of him specifically, but it didn't hurt. Now I might have to DVR Raw and skip to the Rock's appearances.
Sure did sound like they are planning a storyline with Cena. They wouldn't do a Cena/Rock match at WM 27, would they? Rock looks in shape and Cena NEEDS to turn heel badly. I stopped watching a while back and that fool still annoys me to no end when I tune in but he was pretty solid as a heel a long time ago.
Yea it's a shame their hero is John Cena... Weak sauce! Those kids missed out big time. Everybody that grew up watching wrestling in the 90's is really lucky.
LOL I lost interest when the rock started doing movies and I wasn't too fond of stone colds "what?" persona. And then they brought in WCW and that wigger John cena.
I was just referring to sporting events  Hey..maybe the Rockets and the Texans games are scripted as well
So this was the last time The Rock was on WWE (in Anaheim also)? Rock wanted some of Mrs. Jeff Garcia. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ncmpFGetU94" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Is The Rock the greatest character in wrestling history? I've never seen any other performer have an entire arena of people literally hanging on every single word he says like he did/does. Hogan, Undertaker, Foley, Hart, Flair, Michaels....all icons, but I don't think any of them can match Rock's popularity during his heyday. Austin is the only other character I might put above him, but that's debatable.
I would include Stone Cold in the category of one of the greatest characters ever too, right up there with The Rock.
