If that's what does indeed look like, and it doesn't end up having a dual core or front facing camera then FAIL. I liked my G1's 5 row keyboard, and whats the point of having single core snapdragon when everyone else did that 6 months ago....and front facing cameras are necessary to stay relevant with all the new video apps....
T-Mobile also has the Vibrant on sale on-line for $99 bucks today only. With my contract it's still listed at $269 though.
me too. 3 rows will mean another function button must be pressed for simple numbers. that's not a deal breaker though, and i do like the overall thin look of the phone... for me, my upgrade from g1 to g2 will hinge on the single core/dual core processor.
Presale begins later tonight for the G2 for current T-Mobile customers. http://www.tmonews.com/2010/09/t-mobile-g2-pre-order-is-a-go-for-tomorrow-release-october-6th/
looks like a glorified motorola razor. I had a G1. Man, that phone was balls. No moar android for teh Landlord.
The original G1 is on a very, very, VERY old version of Android and had HTC's SenseUI on top of it preventing it from ever getting updated. It's processor was slower, had less memory and a smaller screen. It was the earliest adoption of the OS, so of course it's going to be iffy. The G2 has a new processor (newer than the Nexus One), a bigger screen, Android 2.2 (the latest) without SenseUI (just Android default) and more memory. It really is the best phone T-Mobile has.
HD2? Windows Mobile 6x sucks. The HTC layar on top of it however makes it pretty decent. It sucks that it'll never get Windows Mobile 7 even though it meets all the required specs.
Haters gon hate.jpg I just laugh. The windows platform is fine. Sure there are some complaints about it but nothing worth mentioning. I flashed the ROM and the phone is freakin incredible. This phone is better than any iphone Ive been on and better than any android phone period. Bigger, better screen. Better media player. Better speaker. Better camera. Better battery etc...most importantly....it's faster. and it can do more of what I need it to do. so I dont get a thousand worthless apps......oh, yea, I do. I have android on this phone too. I just never use it because it sucks so bad. HD2 > air
So can I get the G2 and use my original G1 data plan or do I have to get a whole new plan to take advantage of HSPA+?
I used to be a big supporter of windows mobile. Iphone first came out it couldn't do stereo bluetooth which was huge for me since I had the motorola S9's. I had windows mobile on the touch pro 2 for a long time. Even flashed the ROM but windows mobile just has that annoying memory leak that drives me nuts. Even if I'm not doing anything the memory usage will skyrocket to 90 % at which applications will just automatically shut down. Sure it can multitask but when the memory leaks are so bad it just shuts down apps automatically without notifying you. I got the HD2 afterwards but ONLY because my friend had one and put Android on it. I have it dual bootable to Android and Windows mobile but I rarely EVER boot into Windows Mobile. Android does just about everything and has a smoother interface that I zip around so much faster than windows mobile. You should try out android on your HD2 as well. You don't even have to touch the WM OS. I miss the Garmin I had on WM but google navigation or motonav is a good alternative. I think battery life is less on my phone now but that's most likely because I'm doing so much on it now.
nah. my brother in law has the evo. I would still rather have the HD2 because of the windows platform. PHONE WARZ CARRY ON!!! FOCKIN RAGE!!
darkstone. I tried shubcraft but my music had a weird echo through the player. after I installed the ROM, Ive never had to reboot with windows. I can post a link to the file I used to flash your phone when I get to my pc.
