Not worried about the Mavericks at all. OJ Mayo is regressing to his mean now and I doubt he goes off for 40 again.
I'm so sick of people bringing up race when it comes to Lin. That's a slap in the face to black people who use to be slaves in this country and treated like 2nd class citizens. It's a new day and age. And plus there was never an issue with Yao as far as race. We loved that dude. But he was a great player and showed it night in and night out. And Lin will have to do the same. This is America, and nobody is going to kiss anybody's @$$ because they are of a different race.
I'm black and don't consider that even remotely a "slap to the face." Don't know what the hell you're talking about there. It's just a freaking observation. Many people (both TV personalities and folks we know personally) see Lin and as a first impression think he's unathletic because he's Asian. A LOT of people thought Yao was soft for the same reason. No ones saying these players are oppressed or calling for folks to "kiss anybody's ass." They're just making a comment on human nature and how it relates to racial preconceptions when it comes to basketball. It's really not a big deal.
Lol Houstonians without comcast get screwed as well. NBA Fan Night games get blacked out for the local markets on NBA TV .
I also hate it, but it did sound funny when J.Barry said twice that Lin was "deceptively fast" and when the other commentator facetiously said the same thing about Harden, Barry said with a straight face, "No. There's nothing deceptive about it. Harden is just really fast."
You must be smokin dat dodoo bird if you think this organization is going to trade Lin anytime soon... We'll see in 3 yrs as to what will happen but for the time being Lin is going any damn where...

daam this a really good thread. i never thought of our team like that. "did it to chicago, memphis and nyk" ...lol thats ****in awesome. now that teams actually respect us, not surprised when we drop 120. i was thinking we might have a shot at the playoffs in mid december. but now its starting to look like a lock.
Knicks had the best D when we dropped 120 on them. Then Grizzlies were the #1 defense when we dropped 120 on them. Then Bulls has the 2nd best D when we dropped 120 on them. Hawks had the 8th best defense when we did it last night.
Jeremy Lin isn't deceptively fast, he looks athletic as hell when he plays. Anyone who says otherwise is being silly.
Yeah, we had the #1 offense in the league after we traded for Kevin Martin, though we had a slower pace than this year's team. I feel like that team + a healthy Yao was a title contender.
