I got FN3 on ebay a few days after I got my 360.

I thought it was great, but they could make it one of the best posrt games going around just by adding small things:

*Better create a player so that all the boxers faces dont look the game and rounded.

*Allowing longer names to be put into created fighters. Christopher is a long first game...but Chris Ryan (My name) just fit in!

*More venues with the biggest fights being able to be held in outdoor stadiums if your an unbeaten fighter.

*The ability to take fights at shorter notice so you can rack up a more active career. This would effect your ability during a fight though.

*You should be able to change weight divisions at will, with an effect of course.

*Better fight intros with music and entrance you can select. Also you should carry all your belts into the ring too!

The good thing is its all the things surroun ding the boxing itself they could change and the game would still be great!

I would pay a visit to your gym if I still lived in Houston. I've tried boxing before but am pretty much set with Judo these days.

I raised this issue in the video game thread that its true you can't go around shooting people in real life but there are a lot of things that people do on video games that you can do in reality.

Yea, like picking up hookers, and killing them after they have done their job, and getting your money back.

I have always thought that Fight Night Round 2 was one of the best videogames ever, even now I still pick it up and play it on the old XBox from time to time..

So I couldn't wait for Round 3.. got it, hated it, traded it in as soon as I could.

    Why?

Not the graphics, they are incredible. The smoothness is there, everything is there.. I still don't understand why, with all the power available to programmers on the 360 and PS3, that they made the ring girls look even worse that Round 2, but they did.. yuk..

But that wasn't the reason either.

The reason was, the most vital part of a boxing game, the IMPACT OF A PUNCH, ir ENTIRELY MISSING.

Even in Round 2, at the exact moment of impact, it tends to break the camera at the worst time, but at least the THUD, the IMPACT is there.

In Round 3, hitting someone with a heavy blow is completely non-impactful. It's just the same old little -smack smack smack- of any little regular hit.

It may seem like a small thing, but it absolutely ruined the fun of the game for me.

One of the biggest thrills of Round 2 was its visceral nature, when you land a really hard blow, they make you FEEL it, and give it to you to savor. In this last one, it is like they never even knew that that was a part of it, or knew and just didn't think it was important.

Anyway, here's hoping that the next one will bring back the FUN of the actual boxing, instead of worrying solely about the eye-candy.
