See, I went into Hangover with no expectations because I had no idea what it was about. My friends just wanted to go see it, so I did. My expectations are actually kind of high for District 9, but I'm not expected to be blown away.

    Saw it last night...

It's not something I'd want to watch again and again, but it was a refreshing take on the whole Alien story and the visual effects were excellent. I assume we'll have a district 10 at some point in the future.

    4 out of 5 stars.

Oh wait, lmao. Are yuu talking about when Jeff got up and then just sat down next to you for the rest of the movie?

Am I the only one to think that "Living in Joburg" is a methaphor for the apartheid? And that basically the whole movie is about the white-black relation during the apartheid and now?

Obviously it has strong references to racially charged situations throughout history.

Saw it this afternoon. If you're expecting any preachy messages prepare to be disappointed. I'm glad it had more action in it though. There's some allegory to race, but they don't beat you over the head in it. Parts of the movie do drag, but the moments afterwards are the best. I don't see the Transformers crowd eating this up though. Recommended.

I now want to see how they wanted to do that Halo movie. Bah.

saw it earlier today and as i mentioned earlier i didnt know too much about the film and I came away pretty satisfied.

The visual effects were simply amazing the amount of seamless interaction from CGI characters and real actors was great.

    I would give it a solid 8.5/10

I do think the movie set itself up for a sequel probably known as district 10

Wow. This is one of the best sci fi movies I've seen in some time, and probably would list somewhere in my all time list.

I'm very glad I went in knowing little about the plot. The way this movie starts throwing things at you is very satisfying.

If you are a sci fi fan at all you should see this movie.

I'm worried now. My expectations are too high... the shoes may now be too big to fill. :(
