...yeah, I think so too.. especially since it looks like GI Joe will probably bomb this weekend.. there should be no competition for this film really..
He obviously thought it was about a different kind of moon. And Moon is outstanding, by the way. Enjoyed the hell out of that one. I really want to see District 9 as well but the odds I can get out of the house to check it out are slim.
Don't be too sure on that, unfortunately. It's tracking well with older and younger men and younger women as well. I hope it bombs and I hope 10 years from now I'll be writing the GI Joe Begins script.....a man can dream.....a man can dream.
Just to take this a bit further- I don't know why people are hating on GI Joe. It's getting decent reviews on AICN.com, which is a good barometer for me as a fanboy. And it's got action, hot b****es, and, and, and SNAKE EYES, dammit! I'm hyped as hell to see it. But back on topic, D9 looks phenomenal. Wish i could go see the screening tomorrow in Austin.
97% on RT (Armond White Review so it should be 100) Anyways, I will definitely check it out this Friday.
Yep, I just checked too lol. I'm going to watch it on Friday on my parent's dime since I'm visiting them. Then I'll come back up here and watch it with my girl.

I just watched a screening of it . . . STUNNING. Visually, I haven't felt this way since Jurassic Park. They pulled the story off rather well. You will sit there and be enthralled, a great movie going experience.
Saw a screening of it last night. Disappointed. It was solid all around, but my expectations were very high. I wanted an epic. Some of it was just kind of weird, illogical.
District 9 will shat on Transformers 2 for the best blockbuster smash of the summer... Never seen Transformers 2, will wait for blu-ray...
i've stopped expecting "epic" movies, because whenever you label something like that, you will never enjoy it as much as you should/could
Agreed. I fell for the hype of "The Hangover", and although I love slapstick comedy, that movie was friggin' horrible. This movie looks nice, but my expectations going in aren't going to be too high.
I havent seen too much about this other than the occasional bus stop ad and all I think i will go see it today's matinee
