Agreed, it's a shame people have to resort so such ignorant remarks to get their point across. The guy was obviously an idiot, not the least of which was because of his race.

Your post is an example of how not to handle something like this.

It's not a real sporting event until a fight breaks out... Usually when I go out in public to watch athletes play I'd expect a little brawl in the stands so that way it makes the experience of staying home watching the game on a big screen more pleasurable....

Pretty sad that it had to resort to violence. That being said fans have a certain right to be loud and cheer...its a game, not church. But once you start cussing you lose that right

    It's not, trust me.
Half the things on this board seem racist and inappropriate if you don't know the history behind them.

Sigh... this is what happens when some members don't understand the history between that phrase. I did not label them as YOF...

There was a poster once that claimed that "everytime the Rockets come to Oakland, we get together a group of thuggish asians to cheer only for yao. You can come to, but only if you look thuggish, because if you don't you will make us look bad."

That poster was being sarcastic, and we all had a good laugh... I just assumed half of you would understand what is going on, but unfortunately you jump to conclusions.

Oh... btw. I'm Asian myself, so it wouldn't make much sense for me to be racist against my own race.

My bad dawg, that was one of my crew.

You see me and my group of thuggish Asians were just trying to enjoy rooting for Yao, but then we found out Yao wasn't playing, so we were forced to watch black and white people play basketball and it was really boring so we decided to start some **** with some lady who was being a biznitch.

My boy Ace need to simmah down.

That's understandable, but as a Mexican American i find it annoying when others always refer to anyone who looks hispanic as "mexicans". Since you later described them as mexican/el salvadorian/panamian, etc, then that tells me you know you're not sure where they're from, yet you still went with "mexicans", which is ignorant. It's the internet, so it's whatever, but it's something to think about if you've never realized it. It's the equivalent of always refering to someone black as "african", which I'm sure would eventually bring trouble.

Yeah. I can't tell whether a Hispanic is Mexican/Salvadorian/etc. So I just went with Mexican. I always try to refer to them as Hispanics, but I end up saying Mexican or something.

I get the same treatment being Asian. Everyone thinks your Chinese or Japanese. WTF.

that happens with everyone. Asians don't all come from China, whites don't all come from England, etc.
