Na that will be the Cameroonians as well as them Azzuris (Italians). Super Eagles play a beautiful brand of footy all day all night and far play is our watch word.
OK, who is in EUROPE, and who is "near" europe? I need to know what the plane tickets you have paid for cost and what is cheap... I know Travel agencies put packages together, but what if you already have a ticket in your hand and want to buy a complete package??? ... I know "Aviacsa" and "Aeromexico" aren't top quality... and I know no terrorists would EVER hijack those...
Actually I thought that there were some threats to some Aeromexico planes about a year ago around New Years. I think they were heading to LA.
I live in Munich and if I still live here next year, I am planning to go to the opening game of the world cup (if I can get a ticket, but I should have a chance, as I am a season ticket holder for Bayern Munich). They are building an awesome new stadium right now, I pass by it every time I go to the airport. It looks like a giant tire. I am really looking forward to the world cup .
Have you heard of any special security measures that will be taken for the WC, if any? About the earlier post, I was recalling what I had read on the internet and in papers. To me, the amount of pressure that was put on Rudi was unfair. He did a great job of coaching them to the finals in 2002. I'm wondering what makes the german public think that Klinsmann will do any better. oh yeah 2005 Champions League winner- Manchester United!!
I would have to think that the security would be immense, considering the fact that Munich probably wants to avoid another Olympic-style disaster that they had in the 70s with the bombing.
and Sir Jackie Chiles, check out: http://www.soccerstadiums.homestead.com/top10beststadiums.html Kaizer, I know that new German stadium will be in that list... awesome pictures... thanks! I now want to visit ALL OF THOSE stadiums... where is the one that has a retractable roof in the GMC SUV commercial? There is also another soccer stadium with a street running under it... I know I have seen it in FIFA World Cup 98 or 2001... where is THAT ONE?
Cool link, Swoly-D. Bayern will move from the Olympiastadion to the Allianz-Arena. The big advantage of the Allianz-Arena will be that you will be much closer to the field because it is a "pure" soccer stadium. No track and field there. That's like in Nou Camp in Barcelona where I have also been. It will be great. I believe it also has a retractable roof.
Where are YOU when you drive through here? I am sure you know about: http://www.allianz-arena.com/en/home/ I was hoping this München stadium would be the FINAL host, but they're going with traditional at Hertha's Berlin Olympic stadium... I guess they want to rival Mexico's Estadio Azteca as the 2-time final game venue... http://p1.fifa.re2.yahoo.com/06/en/t/2006/schedule.html
I think I was wrong about the retractable roof. But it has cool lighting options. You can check out pictures at www.allianzarena.de.
Why don't more stadiums have retractable roofs? Now that Reliant in Houston has one it seems to be the way to go. DD
All Germany Host City Stadiums <- Still no one can tell me which stadium has a ROAD or STREET or Freeway under it, eh?
My uncle lives in Holland which is not too far from Germany so I am planning on at least making an attempt to go. I didn't get to go to any games while the cup was hosted by US so I want to experience it once at least.
UPDATE: I think it will be Worldo Cupo Alemania DIVORCEo '2006 if I don't come to terms with my wife about going... she says "DON'T THEY TELEVISE IT?" AnotherBrother, I got more where THAT ONE came from...
