Two rules in football to adhere to this decade.

    1. Don't trail/fall behind Uruguay by a goal
    2. Don't trail/fall behind Atletico Madrid by a goal.

God help any club or national team that goes down by 2 or more goals to either of those teams. Might as well just pack it up and get ready to go home.

Portugal got a gift from Uruguay today with the Pepe goal and the marking on that. Uruguay don't give gifts like that often and Portugal couldn't hold onto that draw or go ahead. That Uruguayan team is just solid.

That game just meant more to the people of Uruguay than those of Portugal.

That second Cavani goal was amazing technique. On the run, opened his body, and sent a bending “power floater” across goal into the corner. Truly stunning. I have always like him and the Uraguay back line. Too bad Suarez has to Suarez all over the pitch and ruin it. Allez Les Bleus!

I am thinking he injured his calf after getting piled on by his teammates after the 2nd goal, I could see the look on his face looking like he wasn't enjoying it. I am hearing he will miss the next game..

At this pace this WC is going to go down as the best sporting event ever. These two matches today were nuts.

    That France goal was perfection.

Now that you say that I think you are right. He was definiteky grimacing.

It would be a damn shame if he can’t go on Friday.

This is so true. I'm rooting for them and everything, but he does make it difficult.

    Same here.

I want to root for Uruguay but they have a cannibal on their team, which goes against my principles.

The whole Uruguay team looks solid. That defensive line works like a blue wall -- tough to get through.

Btw, Hannibal Suarez reminds me of Green from the Worriers. Would love to have on your team, otherwise hateful character.

They just showed a big crowd shot and all of the Russians had their phones turned sideways -- that is a ****ing outstanding culture right there.

You can almost make the argument that; holding it vertical is showing the world from an individuals perspective; sideways is a more of an group view..
