Doubtful anyone yelled mean things at him.
Definitely not the Argentinian fans as they revere him.
Most likely not the Nigerian fans as they aren't known for talking crap and starting stuff like fans of some other national teams out there (England for example).
I think he was just being his usual classless coked up self and decided to let the emotion of the goal and win get to him and flip off Nigerian fans or the Nigerian team. He is who he is.

Mario Gomez should have been in the starting lineup especially against the South Korean midgets.

Not sure what you're insinuating. Germany has played generally like crap....as have most of the favorites with the exception of Belgium and England. I've said this a few times over the last 2 weeks in this thread multiple times. I woudl absolutely love a tournament where there's new blood in line to win a Cup for once.

I hate to be that American fan, but this will be so underwhelming if both matches end 0-0.

You aren't rooting for new blood in the post though. You're rooting against Argentina. That moment meant more for the Argentinian people and team than it did for Nigeria by miles.

There is no way to prove or deny this statement.

The Argentina of yesterday was a totally different team than the first two matches. Hopefully that will continue. I'm personally cheering for Germany to make it through, but that's because of German family. They've been truly uninspired so far and it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone if they are eliminated today or early in the next round. I'm on board with @leroy in hoping that new teams playing well, like Belgium, can win the tournament.

Then the USMNT fans won't have anyone to root for.

Big time. 3 straight days of second half nail biting. That was a penalty clear as day. Don't get how anyone could argue it wasn't

Germany finally gets an idea to cross it into the box for Gomez lol...

Gomez heads it straight to keeper though.
