[Fiesta Bowl] Universtiy of Texas vs. The Ohio State University

My ballot would look like this:

1. Utah
2. OU
3. USC
4. Florida
5. UT-Austin branch

 

I think it depends how they lose. I'm not sure the polls will look so kindly on the number 3 team winning a squeaker to the number 10 team as they will to the number 2 losing a squeaker to number 1.

I will agree though that debates like these is why the whole BCS system is so messed up.

If you're gonna make light of Utah's conference, at least get it right.

They play in the MWC, not the MAC.

They played and beat teams like TCU (top 10) and BYU (top 25).

Depends on what major you do. Don't think rice engineering touches UT's and the salaries bears that out.

 

You realize I go to the University of Texas and I'm obviously cheering for them.

But to say Utah doesn't deserve consideration is laughable.

 

That's possible too but I would give USC a better shot at ending up at two. Again I think it comes down to how UF loses. I think if its a ver close game the voters will take that strongly into consideration.

No, he makes a good point. Rice is one of the top academic universities in the country, much less the South. What makes any success they have in athletics is that their players have to do it while simultaneously excelling in their studies. That can't be said for other public universities. So consider that when looking at their great runs in baseball and the football team's 9-3 record this year. And I say this a UT Longhorn.

I will add though that the BSC has been shown to be very unpredictable so I'm not sure any predictions on how the final rankings for two through five will shake out.

 

Has some of the luster come off of the Big 12 because of this close win combined with Okie State and TT losing? I'm starting to think the Gators may win by double digits now.

 

They also beat Alabama (Florida's marquee win) and Oregon State, who beat USC
