I could be missing his point, like I think you are, but I think his point was that the guy lived until he was 90, and hadn't been ruling or making any decisions in st least a few years. Basically, why are people celebrating someone's death who was able to impose his will on that many people, and who, for all intensive purposes, lived out his life full fledged, getting to see his vision (however horrible that was) come to fruition? I could see it on one hand, if my family was affected, but at the same time, it's very unfortunate, as the guy lived through a whole generation of destruction right in our own back yard, and unfortunately, his death changes nothing.
No, you understood me perfectly! He lived a full life and died a very old man....never once seeing any personal retribution for his actions. If I was Cuban, I think I would have mixed feelings about his death. Glad that the dictator of my homeland died, AND sad that he died AS the dictator of my homeland!
