it's basically a 20ft jumper. since tmac loves to shoot those types of shots that are so damn near the 3pt line that he might as well take a 3pt shot, he would OWN that. but again, scola not only held his own v. the US big men, he actually dominated them at times. i'm very impressed. again, for us to go far, he should be our 3rd best player. not necessarily a 3rd option in terms of a go-to guy, but he shoudl be our 3rd best player. his mid-range jump shot is very good. his footwork is probably automatically one of the best in the L b/c of the lack of big men nowadays. and his competitiveness actually rivals kobe it seems like. he was pumping fists after hitting the ball from howard and getting the ball back despite a 30 pt deficit. even jones, the analyst, said scola will help tmac and yao past the first round. , but i have bigger dreams. i think he'll help us get to the finals i don't see how adelman cannot design plays for this guy, either to score or to create for others. he's easily our 3rd most talented player.
He won't get that call,They have allowed ginobli and many of the international players to use that up and under move. It's apart of the evolving game.
I got to watch the end and the Scola highlight reel - which was very impressive. I think he will be huge for us.
I just hope that Sergio Hernandez does not pull a JVG. He needs to put his personal feelings aside and allow the three amigos back on the team for 2008. let the U.S americans get over their head with these victories, thats the way we like it Melo and Scola Fiba Co-mvps, that would be great
how can rocket fans not be excited for next yr? this was the biggest signing of morey this offseason BY FAR.
Scola played more. Obviously, if Kobe or Melo played 40 minutes/game Scola wouldn't have won it. Still, nobody can say Scola didn't turn some heads especially missing a couple players on his team. He definantly looks like the real deal.
Scola MVP. That is what happens when players on the same team split votes. Can't wait for the new season begins! It's time!
I'm not disputing that, but it seems odd to give the tournament MVP award to a player on the losing team. You could say the Spurs would still kick ass without Tony Parker, but that doesn't mean they should've given the award to LeBron James last year. Maybe it's a difference in philosophies.
I cannot see why Stoudemire was in the 1st NBA team last season. I can see why Howard is the stater at C in this USA team. I can see why Shaq said that Duncan, Yao, and himself are the best men in low post.
This tournament showed me that Dwight Howard would blow away Amare's numbers if he was in Phoenix. Amare is smaller, weaker, less explosive, an average rebounder, and an average shotblocker. I don't care what anyone says, Amare is still not near his pre-injury level of dominance.
