One thing not being brought up besides the officiating is the technology in the rims in the nba compared to FIBA. the nba has magnets in their rims according to the YouTuber karceno4life. And now I’m starting to believe it. He stated that the magnetic technology was added at the end of the 2014 season. And has been used ever since looking at some of these bricks by lillard, Durant and others out here. The ball is clanging off the rim in these games differently than they do in the nba you think I’m crazy, but it’s the truth just watch the misses, in the nba the ball generally hits the back iron and bounces straight up in the air a lot more. I’ve yet to see that happen in these scrimmages start at 3:10 of the video below
Magnets? If people say the rim and backboard are of different weights or the material is different (between NBA and FIBA), I can maybe give leeway on if a 'leather' basketball clangs off of different material. Like the bounce property differ if one bounces a ball off a brick wall vs a chained fence at a park. Between NBA and FIBA, are the backboard made of different plexiglass/temperred glass for example. A more likely scenario is NBA arenas have all these cameras attached (like the dunk cam), more weight is added to the overall structure of the backboard which could affect the way a ball bounces off of a rim. The speculation on magnets is kinda looney... a basketball is leather and air, it's not made of metal.
