What happens if the Nets take Wesley Johnson? Do you think that will put pressure on Minnesota to trade out of the 4th spot? Not sure if they want to take a C or PF that high when they have Jefferson and Love already. Also, they are set at PG. They need a wing player really bad.

Maybe we offer up Battier, Budinger, #14 (G Paul), and a future pick. Then take Cousins with that #4 pick and maybe something else from them. Just a thought. Could be a interesting night.

Morey is gunna look for a rotational big, I'm almost 90% sure of that... so if he can trade up and get Cousins or Monroe, he will. But he will be looking for Udoh or Aldrich here.... if neither are available, he would happily take Xavier Henry, Patterson, or Babbit

I'd say the Rockets are thinking BPA, not drafting only for need. But even if you look at "need", which of the five starting positions are the Rocket's "weakest"

    PG: Brooks
    SG: Martin
    SF: Ariza
    PF: Scola
    C: Yao

I like Trevor Ariza, but even I would have to say the weakest starting position is SF.

Or if you look at depth:

    PG: Brooks, Lowry
    SG: Martin, Budinger, Taylor
    SF: Ariza, Battier
    PF: Scola, Hill, Jeffries
    C: Yao, Hayes, Anderson

SF still looks weakest. Sure, a backup center is a big need. And I would love to get a big backup PG (Mikhail Torrence jumps to mind). But I can also see the thinking behind getting a talented SF over reaching on a backup C.

We're fine at the SF spot -- Ariza and Battier are both more than capable of holding that spot down. In addition, I think Budinger is more suited to be a SF than he is SG.. but he can certainly play both positions. Our weakest spot is clearly the center position -- the only guarantee we have on Yao is that he'll play limited minutes (25?). After that, I'd really rather not rely on a 6'6 center -- we need help at the C spot more than any other position.
