Anybody stop to think Feigen might have just been having a little fun with the article? Maybe he knows the quickest way to get a Rockets' fan's blood boiling is to say the words Karl Malone.

First off, Feigen...even if you weren't serious, you obviously don't believe in Rockets Karma ... and look what happened ... Suns stop the Spurs' 11-game winning streak the day you print the forbidden words.

hmmmm....maybe Feigen was trying to pull some Choke City reverse psychology.

Either way, thanks alot Johnny for dooming this BBS to "My Positions on the Positions to Get Malone" thread for a whole off season. You SUCK!!! ;)

If Feigen is serious in more than a metaphorical manner (which I doubt), then I've lost respect that can never be regained for anyone who says we need Malone. Like Barkley b****ing about cell phones helped any, or Hakeem b****ing about "the way basketball is meant to be played." Example one. or Like Jordan's b****ing helped Kwama Brown. another example. How about Magic returning to the Laker's then saying, "I give up." how many more examples do we need?

Right-before-retirement b****ing by HOFers (especially on new teams) often just backfires. Barkley and Hakeem both destroyed Cato's will to play, and Rudy has since repaired that to the point he's now the Cato we all expected. Rudy's way is better than Malone calling out these guys. Malone would not reload this team...he would implode it. Like can someone explain to me what Malone's b****ing about Ostertag ever did to get Ostertag to play hard. Yet another example. Malone is the last person on this planet who I'd want to "call out" this team. It wouldn't work in Houston.

Why can't we just get a well-respected, level-headed, back-up veteran PG and blue collar "let's his actions speak for him" PF to do the same thing that Feigen says we need.

Why Malone has always been a Punk

The day Malone used an elbow to cave in the face and career of a little-used bench warmer, David Weimer sp?, in a Rice/Louisiana Tech game and showed no remorse was the day I said I would *never* root for that guy, ever. He's just a punk, and leaving his well-oiled machine to play for us...his b****ing in the media about Griffin or Mo lifestyles or whoever would divide this apparently mentally fragile team.

btw: The final example of Malone's questionable leadership abilities. Outside of Rockets memories, nothing was more beautiful than seeing Dennis Rodman unravel Malone in the Finals.

schweet!!

...and then we'd have malone teaching the "flop" move to our guys at practice. that will stay long after he is gone. yao falls down enough as it is. i dont need to see him do it with better facial expressions.

HELLO?!?!?!?!??!
No one had a problem picking up Charles Barkley! Remember how much we hated him when he played for Pheonix? Remember how much we loved him when he came to the Rockets? Need I say more.

Playoffs for one year. Then Karl retires,or gets to old, then what is your solution?

Please explain why Karl would be in great shape till he is 45 years old when Mings contract is up. He wont be. Plus the rockets would have to trade away Griffin or other young talent for a one year rental.

Ive always had a hunch that Rudy would cave to getting a veteran since he cant lead.Didnt fans learn anything from the pippen 1 year rental? Oh,and Malone gets schooled now by Brand. You want a pf,get brand. Not a old bag in karl.

You needn't say more cause you just don't get it!
People don't hate Charles the way they do Malone.
I don't know if I should waste time explaining to you. Go do some research.

I might really dislike the guy, but I think he would bring some intensity and desire that is obviouly lacking. I wouldn't trade any of the "big 3" for him though. strictly free agent signing...no trades for the mailman

I understand where Feigen is going w/ the whole unquestioned leader thing, but I dont think Malone is the answer. I say forget Malone and go after Brand and PLEASE work w/ Nachbar in the offseason so that he can play the 3. The lineup with an improved Nachbar and Brand will get this team an legit ouside threat and the low post banger we desperately need to complement Yao.

I don't.

Either this was a very stupid waste of trees or Feigen thought he was funny, which would be funny in and of itself.

On thing is certain - Karla Mailman is leaving Utah next season. Where he ends up will be anyones guess. I think he will be better off in the Eastern conference where he could still shine.

Cmon, the Rocks do not have a leader....the mailman is not the answer but we need somebody who can provide an example or some type of leadership and show the these guys how to play basketball.....granted that's the coaches job, but hey, im not pointin any fingers......

Karl Malone in a Rockets Uni would make me cry. I have hated that guy with a passion for years and laughed at their failures!!

But I think Feigen is right. We need someone who would open his mouth and say what needs to be said. Someone who would b**** slap someone who brought it and tried to hurt one of our players. He would teach the guys how to play the game.
He would teach the team a discipline it had never felt.

When Ostertag shows up out of shape, Karl pulls him out and lets him have it. The same when he plays poor. The only veteran that opened his mouth like that was Glen Rice, and the team actually began to play better when he did.
