Silas is using Houston as leverage. It is known.

Yes. Dantoni is trying to do the same. That's why he's got interviews lined up with...oh wait...

If Silas is as smart as he's hyped to be, no way he chooses HC in Houston over assistant coach in GSW.

Not saying he won't, but what if he wants to coach?

    I hope drama team.

I mean, more money and a chance to prove himself in a good franchise (no mater what someone here says) should be enough.

I disagree. A lot of first-time head coaches start with really crappy teams. Because usually it's really crappy rebuilding teams with no superstars who are looking for a coach, and no long-time, well-respected coach wants to coach a rebuilding team. So front offices give those head coaching jobs to new-comers.

The Rockets aren't really in that boat. They had an inexplicably bad season this year and performed much worse than they actually are. They have a superstar in James Harden. They aren't a bottom of the barrel team.

Stephen Silas would be in a great spot to get a chance to take over a team like the Rockets as the head coach. It's a much better head coaching gig than most in the league.

This over-dramatic idea that the Houston Rockets are this horrible franchise at the bottom of the league is getting tiresome.

It was weak sarcasm. Weak because I didn't make it obvious enough and also because I am on Team No-D'Antoni, so I really want almost anyone but MDA. There is some overlap between this team and Team Drama but they're not the same.

I'm on team drama, but it's growing a little tired. I'm moving over to team LesHate. I'm sure eventually I'll be traded to team delusional, in the vain hope of a future.

JET reckoned part of this season's failure was due to the lack of weight/respect JB carried as a rookie HC. How would that be any different with Silas?

    I said this yesterday!

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world taking the Golden State lead assistant job. It's very likely gonna lead to a head coaching job, as soon as next year. (See: Alvin Gentry, Luke Walton, soon-to-be Jarron Collins)

or possible lead assistant in Portland to Terry Stotts.

or return to Charlotte(seems unlikely now)

    or take over dysfunction junction.

Yup, and good luck getting them to respect Mike D'Antoni either.

    Thanks Les.

    This.

If you think they spent so much time on MDA, you would be mad so much...:mad::mad:

I think D'Antoni would be a better coach than McHale or Bickerstaff, but Silas is the best option available. After reading about him, I'm convinced he is the coach for the Rockets.

Why would he accept the top assistant job when he could accept a head coach position outright? Any coach hired in Houston will have job security. We seem to take a long time to make coaching changes. Long tenures for sure. We are only 3 coaches removed from Rudy T. 4 if you count JB. Not sure why you would though.
