Does that mean the rookies can only be signed through the MLE?

In all honesty Lebron can do what Gordon and Tucker do and then some.

man lebron is not going to play tucker level defense. Have you seen him play defense. Gordon is also a very adequate defender and a much better spot shooter. Lebron is no doubt a 10 fold better player than them individually. But you also have to remember depth and with lebron you lose some of what harden does on offense because he will get his. Im not saying dont do it. I just said it would be a hard gut punch to take losing both of them. They fit the team so well.

We lost depth when we traded for CP3. Guess who got better and who worse? Us with CP3 or Clippers with more depth? Lebron is top3 alltime players and i would trade everyone, even straight up Harden for him

None of it matters when we will flat out beat people. We can replace role players even if those role players are slightly worst hell they playing around Paul/Harden/Lebron it would just be beatdown on everyone including GS.

tucker moute and green need to be back-- the only iffys is Ariza and Anderson maybe capela will be back but the first 2 need to be gone. Ariza is great defensively but he is a liabilty on offense

Go back to bed dummy.... nobody would trade Harden in his prime for the last 4 years of Lebron.

The Rockets don't need LeBron, at all.

Cleveland would prefer to be out of the luxury tax with a LeBron trade so they don't have to deal Love to be out of the tax. If you don't leave them out of the tax with a LeBron trade it limits the type of deals they can make for Love. They can't consider deals that may bring back a little more salary. They've got to deal Love for less salary. If they're out of the luxury tax after a LeBron trade they can even hold Love until the deadline before dealing him if they want.

Something like this makes the most sense for Cleveland:

Anderson/EGo/one or two first round picks to Indy

Jefferson/Collision/Joseph/onuaku to the Cavs plus another first from us and some cash to help pay off the small guarantees on Jefferson and Collison.

    This leaves the Cavs with
    1. A first round pick
    2. Onuaku
    3. A nice TPE of around $13.5 million fit future r trade flexibility
    4. Comfortably under the luxury tax line at about $118 million.

Now the above deal could be rearranged to take place after the Moratorium with Lebron opting in. This would be highly unusual of course, because with Lebron opting in the Cavs could pull a reverse Boozer and renege on an agreed-to deal. However....If they did that they'd kill their future free agent prospects forever. And we could incentivize them and the Pacers better after the moratorium.

    Would with something like this:
    1. Send Indy $3.5 millon cash and a future second rounder for Poythress now.
    2. Indy waive Collison and Jefferson.
    3. After the moratorium, execute same trade into Indy's cap space, sending them an additional $2.5 million and maybe a little extra cash to the Cavs.

This trade uses $6 million more of Indy's cap space. Rockets would be giving them $6 million in cash plus a future second rounder (or perhaps if we got away with a single first rounder originally we could simply include a second first rounder after the moratorium).

    The Cavs wind up with
    1. First rounder
    2. Onuaku
    3. A $35 million traded player exception fit tremendous future trade flexibility as they rebuild
    4. A cap of roughly $111 million, significantly beliw the luxury tax line with enough room to consider deals for Love, Hill, etc.that would add salary in exchange for better draft pick and young player assets.

    ::::::::::::::

This is simply one iteration of a possible deal with the Cavs. I highly suspect they'd rather have one pick, a young player, a nice TPE, and to be significantly out of the tax after LeBron is gone then to hassle with Anderson's contract and two picks.

Above deal could be modified any number of ways. I do think Indy is a great possible destination for Gordon, playing alongside Oladipo.....with Oladipo playing the Harden role. And I think we could probably get Indy's 2019 first for Gordon. Then it's a matter of finding a taker for Anderson. I think we could find one for Anderson but it might cost us a couple picks.

Not only that, but let's say hypothetically Paul goes down again, we all ready know what happened. If LeBron was there for those 2 games, the chances are way better then the outcome that did happen. There's a possibility that Houston could win next year as is, but wouldn't you try to get even better if you can? Houston will be the favorite straight up. I know winning is winning no matter if it's by 2 or 20, but I want to not just beat the warriors, I want to destroy them, embarrass them. So you don't technically need LeBron, but if you want your chances to go up, you do it. Crazy stuff happens all the time in the NBA, but the main goal is to win a championship, so you do whatever you have to get the best team you can.
