Brandon Jennings is another player that would flourish in McHale's fast-paced scheme. Surprisingly, he has a fairly low turnover rate, and he's a fearless shooter. He loves to get out and run, and is very familiar with Harden, as both grew up in the same neighborhood in LA.

I don't think backup PG is a huge need and I think we may be talking just about depth in case one of Lin or Beverley goes down.

That's what I was thinking as well. His 3pt shooting would be great for this team.

an expiring contract at backup pg isn't really of much value or necessity, since we'd just be in the same position of needing to sign a quality one anyway next season.

I think Beverley will be backup PG next year. Rockets want to make playoffs and at least be competitive. A rental this year would be fine.

That's true. I'm just not sure Morey wants to add long term salary/deals.

but they don't next year? a quality backup will be appreciably more important next year.

Wut? What would be strategically good about that? He's an expiring seeking a max deal. And he's characterized as a bad locker room guy and he's only 6'. Wut?

he is definitely opting out of his deal...cause so many teams have cap space to sign him

but what do we have left to get him? he's a rental and not worth a high 2nd rounder. Perhaps a low 2nd rounder?

aside from Derek Fisher, are there any other veteran PGs still available? (by veteran, I mean 13 yrs or more experience)

Beverley will have training camp. Rockets will have room exception. The Rockets also have a high second round pick this season. There will be more options in summer, but those don't help now.

Rockets want to be in playoffs.
