So if we trade for Dwight we basically become Orlando out West.

    Brooks
    Lee,Jrich
    Parsons,Turk
    Patterson
    Dwight

We want have capspace to sign CP3 or Jsmoove, after we take on Jrich/Turk contracts.

Why the Bucher hate? The guy was one of the few sports writers who even wrote about Houston during the Tmac/Yao days whenever every other sports writer disregarded us as irrelevant. He's clearly got sources in the Rocket's organization. Whether he is right or wrong is one story, but I'm sure someone on the inside has given him reason to believe that one way or the other.

I can tell you I have tweeted and got several direct responses back from Bucher over the last couple of years and he has been mostly right about a number of predictions he has made - mostly involving smaller transactions when I asked him about guys like Landry and Spencer Hawes.

The problem with the Dwight info is a number of sources have ulterior motives for what they share so it's more of a game reporters are pawns in. Don't shoot the messenger...

    IT'S A BLUFF.

Howard isn't going to sit out the year. I don't care how fake it may be; if Dwight hasn't played NBA basketball in a year and a half and is coming off major back surgery, he's not going to get the money/options/endorsements he wants in free agency next summer. Dwight and his team will make every threat in the book, but when push comes to shove, he has every reason ($$$) to play and play well this year.

    He's not a fool. He's a tool. OK, he's both.

They might resort to acting like Howard no longer exists in the NBA.

So frustrating waiting for some movement on this thing. Wish they would go ahead and pull the trigger. It sounds like Dwight is out of Orlando no matter what.

His back surgery wasn't considered major surgery for whatever it's worth.

Right. I agree; the odds of Dwight not being ready come October are fairly slim. But if for some reason he pulls a stunt and fakes it, the injury will be perceived as "major" - rightly or wrongly. That's why I have little concern that he'll play very well this year, no matter where he is.

    ----Dwight traded to Houston---

Bucher: It's a bizarre situation ladies and gentlemen, but it appears that Dwight Howard is the most recent victim of the Bermuda triangle. It appeared yesterday that he was set to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets, the greatest franchise in modern sports, but as of today, nobody knows his whereabouts. It's like he simply vanished.

Hey guys, I have an idea. How about yall stop watching espn? Stop following Bucher and other espn "insiders" on twitter. Who gives a damn if they don't want to talk about us? If we get Dwight, they'll have no choice but to hop on our sack.

Bucher has been wrong on all fronts. He has no idea what he is talking about. He has no inside knowledge for any team.

If he stuck to being a writer, there wouldn't be hate. Instead he wants to pretend he is an insider.

    Where to begin??

The Magic aren't going to trade Howard to us because of "effort". Probably the most rediculous thing in the article.

We absolutely can give them cap relief. We're one of the few organizations that can without burdening Orlando with long term contracts.

There is NO WAY Houston is interested in Lopez. He doesn't fill any need we have on the roster.

Because he's reporting a tactic Dwight might apply to get to the Nets next season?

What the hell Hennigan is waiting for? Howard wants out of Orlando. I dont understand Hennigan. We simply have the best offer. Too bad Magic if Rockets finally decides to quit.

No. Because he is reporting everything with the agenda of getting Dwight to the Nets next season. There is a key difference. This is not objective reporting.

Yesterday he said Houston had, and I quote, a "0% chance" of acquiring Dwight. Now he's saying they might get him merely because of "effort" but only to send him to Brooklyn during the season. On top of that he got facts simply wrong by stating we couldn't offer any cap relief. That is ridiculous as it is one of the key components of our trade offer.

Because he's supposed to be a neutral reporter and he's only looking at it from one side. It's fine to say what Bucher said, if you A) label it as Dwight's side of the story and B) also tell it from the Houston perspective. If you do neither and act as if whatever Fegan tells you is gospel, you do end up looking like a fool when it doesn't turn out that way (Howard-to-Brooklyn this week).

I BELIEVE he is actually waiting for the Rockets to sign off on the deal... Call me crazy, but there was some previous talk about the Rockets signing both Lin and Asik to offer sheets and then Chicago and New York matching. At that point, we should hear SOMETHING.

It might be waiting on us. Between the Lin/Asik offer sheets and shopping or giving amnesty to Scola, I think it's the Rockets that have housecleaning to do.
