I don't get why OKC wants to trade him. They wont be under the cap anytime soon so what's the point. Just keep your picks and let Melo walk.
Okc is doing this to stiff Houston, their irritated that melo didn’t work out and now they are in a bind because the luxury tax. They swooped in stole melo from us only for us to make it to the WCF and will steal melo right back.
Save more $ by letting someone else buy him out. But their still gonna be receiving salary back. So idk.
The Melo/Felicio deal makes a lot of sense. Bulls clear cap space for next year(8M). OKC saves 20M plus tax this year then can stretch Felicio potentially next year or just eat the salary. He'd cost them about a Mil less than Melo in a stretch. Melo could get his ass to Houston to start working out with his teammates and MDA could plan around the addition so there's no OKC day before camp BS Melo had to endure last season.
What's the savings if they stretch Melo vs offloading? Is it really worth including picks? They'll be capped anyways, need to conserve as many assets as they can.
How much would you pay a team to buy a 1st round pick? Couple million? How about 30 Million? That's the LT bill on the stretch.
I thought the best contributor was kobe lakers and spurs dynasties and tge fact he rarely had anyone worth a damn as a teammate in new york were the reasons he hasnt won.
20 million expiring is worth around a 1st round pick. To move melo without taking back salary its going to cost around 2 picks. If they pick up the tab on a player coming back thats adound 10 million theyll probably need just a 1st rounder to get rid of melo The brooklyn atlanta deal set the market precedent. Probably why the rockets havent shed anderson. Going to cost atleast 2 first rounders unless we take big salary back. Next year probably 1.
i don't doubt that Morey is overestimating Melo's contribution. I think the bottom could fall out of Melo's game any year now. That's why i'm even more stupefied when i hear that we didn't offer Luc the MLE because we want at least TWO years of Melo.
Did you know Gerald Green was just sitting on his couch when the Rockets called? Also Dwight Howard and Josh Smith played AAU ball together.
Not sure about the dudes simulations?? A 65 win team is simulated at 52.5? And of course simulating MCW into it in place of either Ariza or Moute will make it look worse. He was crap last season. Simulate Ennis instead?
