Hate to say it but... he's a really good assistant coach.

I was indifferent towards him but after reading what @Nook had to say I'm pretty happy about the pickup

you can clearly see stones vision with this team. He clearly wants to see what the media calls “beautiful basketball” again. He wants to bring back ball movement and wants harden to play off ball again. Ofcourse it’s not a full 48 mins of it. But if we could let him play off ball for 3 quarters and le James and Russ be themselves in the 4th. You increase the amount of styles u can play.
Hornacheck can bring in some wrinkles of his offense and add some ideas Silas has. Just need to bring back another defensive coach. It seems like it might be elston Turner and I’d be fine with that. He wasn’t a bad defensive coach

I'm fine with Hornacek, now we just need to add a top defensive assistant if possible.

*and a center and PF who can defend, rebound, block shots and space the floor from three. (bonus for adding role players with championship experience.)

    Holy Crap!!!!

I forgot how much of a shitshow Horny was as a HC.

Those putrid rotations, the defense (or lack there of) and the blatant disrespect by the players was insane.

I mean the owner ship also dealt him a bad hand in giving him a 3 tiny guard rotation

I've been vocal about my distaste for Russ but IF (and that's a really big IF) this new coaching staff can get him especially to buy into a more team centric and measured approach then I'll be very optimistic for this coming season. Silas seems to have some good ideas and Hornaceck pulled some stuff off with the triple guard lineup in Phx so if we can get some buy in from the players we might just see something good.

So he had zero say as HC, something about that does not sound right.

What about his arguments with the Morris brothers and other players?

And his triple guard line up was really the only innovative thing he did.

So Hornacek's experience as a head coach is enough, what kind of low criteria do we have?
