I agree with you 100%. Our offense looks the best, when the ball is going through one of our bigs on the high post. Which gives our guards the opportunity to do what they do best. I hope JT does well, I think he has been more than patient, and should be givin some credit for that. He hasn't been afforded the time that Bud has had, so I hope this board realizes that the guy needs time on the court. The more time he gets the better he will play. Unfortunately, as soon as he makes mistakes most of you will call for his head. If JT does do well, when Brooks comes back you will probably see Aldeman go with Bud and JT in the first half in spots, and choose the best of the two for minutes in the second half. But at the end of the day.....I want the rockets to do well, no matter who plays.
Hence, the term shooting guard. That's what he is supposed to do. The coaching staff should allow him to play to his strength first (which is scoring the ball), then show him how opportunities to create for others. Asking him to create for others first, is a recipe for disaster. Furthermore they drafted him to score the ball, not facilitate.
LOL - that is just an excuse...tell ya what though, I agree if he can do that efficiently. If he shoots 45% overall and 40% from 3pt land then he can chuck it till the cows come home. DD
Can't wait to see this guy play. Rick Adelman has hyped him up for a long time. It is overdue that he has a shot at being in the rotation...
Yet another Rotation change................ Rick the ruler, "Hey lets just try every known combination till one works" and then next year lets try a new combination. I hope Rick sticks with it.
we went 3-2......i guess things aren't working and we should of went 5-0..... How about practicing the little things...like fouling the player....rebounding the ball...boxing players out......
Let's see Budinger shoot over 38% from the field and 30% from the arc. You wouldn't mind seeing him chuck shots up all day when he's shooting like a Rafer Altson. JT can do more with the ball that Budinger can. The team needs to just give JT most of Budinger's minutes. They spent all that time scouting him and drafted him ahead of Budinger and Llull... It'll be stupid not to give him a chance especially when Bud is looking like crap.
This isn't about showcasing anybody. Ish has potential, but he needs to earn his minutes. As far as whom will be traded, I think DM knows, and we don't. We're just guessing. I suspect we'll be moving more toward a defensive PG, though. I think this is exactly what RA had to do. Having a deep bench is a mixed blessing. It was always going to take a while to figure out rotations.
I'm pleased with this move. JT has been patient, has served his time, and to my knowledge has not been a crybaby. I hope he has learned to play some NBA defense. He has sufficient size and quickness. And I'll take issue with some; he's been in the system long enough, in practice if not on the floor in games, to be a facilitator and not just a shooter. So if he wants to stick, he must be more than one dimensional. Go Rockets!
Except for passing it to an open teamate..... JT is a SG, Bud is a SF, they are different on defense...but I have said...fine...give JT a shot...why not? Bud has sucked so far, he deserves more time on the bench or in the Dleague to work it out. 3-2 the rest of the way will not get it done... DD
So you think changing the rotation but not practicing the little things won't help.....alright than, because clearly a rotation change is needed, not the issues of practicing FT's, boxing out for a rebound. Hell ya, lets just throw someone new into the MIX...who has been struggling to earn NBA playing minutes... I don't mind JT getting minutes, but I think its silly to think a Rotation change is going to help when we can't even do the little things.
Nahhh! It's just that the JT deck chair looks soooo much better out on the Promenade Deck than the Ish deck chair. And on the good ship Titanic, er, Rockets, how you look is much more important than results.
One does not equal the other, you can change the rotation and practice the little things, why only do one thing at a time? Multitask. DD
Oh, I don't care all that much anymore. Fifteen years of this ***** can make a guy cranky, irritable and lead invarably lead to prostate problems. But it does make you come to accept the principle of "diminished expectations". Simply put: Following that philosophy, I entered the season with zero expectations for this team this year once I saw its makeup. So far, I haven't been disappointed at all although I'm expecting them to win tonight against the Detroit MeMacs.
