I'm curious to see what JT can do. The Rockets are not going anywhere this season. Let's give our young guys more PT.
Might as well try and tap JT's potential, but I really don't like moving ish out. Lee, though he showed that he can play good D on legit points, hasnt proven that he can effectively run the point; however this could be a move on the rockets part to showcase JT's talent to the rest of the league....prelude to a blockbuster trade? I certainly hope so and we certainly have nothing to lose at this point to try this
JT played terribly vs Chicago. Sure, he got his points but his defense sucked, even for a Rocket. He obviously has all the physical tools to be a player, but he must be dumb as a rock. I think this suspicion has been bandied about and the data is collecting. It should be readily apparent soon enough if this is correct. I would love to be proven wrong. Nothing makes me happier than one of our guys becoming a great player, or at least an over-performing fan-favorite. I wish him all the best, but I don't think he's going to make it.
Ish hasn't exactly been playing steady minutes since Brooks' injury. Looks like JT will be getting 10mpg, tops.
JT, like JR smith, has a no-defense clause in his contract that allows him to focus solely on shooting the ball
This does not surprise me at all. I fully expected when we traded for Lee that he was brought in to develop into a backup point guard swinging over from the wing. He has played well of late. I believe that will continue. Right now, Ish just is not good enough to be getting minutes outside of 3-4 spot minutes closing out games that are already won or lost. He does not shoot well enough and he cannot orchestrate the offense well enough. He is Charlie Hustle out there with not enough knowledge of how this offense is supposed to be ran.
I like the decision very much. It gives us more size at the PG, with Lee and Taylor in second unit. Lets see what Taylor can show us next few games. Maybe he can eventually share the minutes with Lee/Budinger at SG/SF when Brooks returns. Depending on the match ups and who's hot etc. I like Ish but when Brooks returns we don't really need him anymore. So it's the perfect timing to test Taylor. Please show us some flashes of D-Wade
Whats wrong with Ish? I kinda enjoyed seeing him in the rotation but on the other hand, Im glad to see JT get some minutes.
I'm okay with that! I hope he takes over buds minutes even tho he's not a SF. I guess lee could be the backup SF??
Nothing against JT, but I have never seen him play well in a game - that includes preseason and summer league games; He seems like Aaron brooks: but not quite as gifted on offense and with even worse tunnel vision
I give Adelman credit for trying a lot of different combinations this year. Haven't really found a winning combination yet, but maybe this will be it.
Did you catch that Laker game last year? The potential is there. I'd like for him to get some extended playing time to see what he can do with it. I don't like the thought of him in the rotation the next two games and then getting bumped when Brooks comes back -- but it's better than nothing. At this point, it's up to him to prove to us what we all already know -- CBud should be riding the pine.
Morey's smokescreen to keep Ish as our back-up PG before too many other teams get enamored of him, and to showcase JT for a possible trade.
Morey said his planning is long term. He must have decided Ariza is not the long term solution at SF. That being determined, he then traded Ariza when a good deal arose, knowing that it might be a while before he found the long term solution at SF. Which player, when he arrives, will push Battier to the backup role.
Actually JT is a shooter and a pretty good rebounder. He should definitely help our offensive and defensive rebounding deficiencies.
I love what RA is doing, Lee could easily develop into a solid PG a defensive one, at the least. JT, will come in ready to play, expect him to be everywhere on the court, he's an athletic freak on the court, an alright shooter, but JT will be playing with a chip on his shoulder, let's expect good things from him in these upcoming games.
I like the rotation of Lee, JT, and Shane as our backup perimeter guys 1, 2, 3. Now, if we can just get a starting SF in here............
