It's clear we're trading Lowry so we're proving Lee as a backup PG, with Taylor taking Lee's role as SG. Just sayin'
i guess this means we'll see miller and lee on the court together. Lee's fine defensively at point, but has trouble starting the offense...Miller, point-center, to the rescue..
From a b-ball perspective, of course, you don't want to trade Trevor. But we all know it had to do with the net difference of 8 mil or whatever they gained in luxury plus salary savings that gives us flexibility going forward. The Taylor move has to do with the fact that AB and Lowry are both about to get into the lineup. We knew from the summer that AB and Lowry would man the point with spot minutes from Lee. Ish made the roster at the last minute because we had a big hole there in case of injury, which is why he got more minutes. Now that AB is coming back, we can see what JT can bring since we don't need another undersized guard right now. Also probably a bit of showcasing and feeling out his progress.
Looks like JT will be taking the VON WAFER roll minus the attitude. I think this is a great opportunity for JT to prove that he belongs in the NBA - whether with Houston or elsewhere. Its unfortunate many good players go unnoticed because of the teams they're on and lack of PT available (Jermaine O'Neal in Portland).
Or trading AB so that Lee will be the backup PG, with Taylor taking Lee's role as back-up SG ;p I'd rather keep AB for bench scoring purposes though, either way.
Bingo. This is exactly why I was against trading Ariza in the 1st place. Morey and Aldeman must have thought C-Bud was ready to either be a starter or a competent sub at s/f. He is not. Ariza was a d******d, but nobody can ever convince me the team is better off without him. Just on the defensive side alone, his length would have given us a much better perimeter defense.
Good start. Ish has been reckless with the ball and isn't finding the open guy on the floor. Can't wait for AB's return so Budinger is the next one out.
Good move. Just like DD said, what's their to lose. Plus, Chase hasn't been showing much improvement. Ish isn't going anyhwere, I think RA is just giving JT a chance to show what he's got.
Generally? That is like saying Martin is generally a better free throw shooter than Scola. I think it is safe to simply say that Lee is a better shooter - from anywhere - than Ish. And, yes, this absolutely is more about Lee than Taylor...but Taylor certainly can't be worse than Bud right now so he could play his way ahead of him by the time Brooks gets back, I suppose.
Lee/Taylor/Bud/Miller/Hill All 3pt shooters to stretch the floor for Hill to operate. Someone suggested this is another thread. Smart move.
I hope that if they are showcasing Taylor that Adelman makes him pass the ball every now and then. It's going to be hard to trade him when he always appears to be such a black hole whenever he plays.
I've been wanting more minutes for Dish. Heck, I've wanted him to start, to see what he could do for the starters. I don't get why he's "out of the rotation." Yeah, he's made a few errors, but so what? Kid can fly, penetrate the paint at will... I'd like to see Dish develop. For us.
Video of Adelman talking about this after practice today ... http://rockets.clutchfans.net/1005/adelman-courtney-lee-jermaine-taylor/
Thanks for video: Aldeman: “He’s very athletic, very aggressive,” said Adelman of Taylor. “He hasn’t really had an opportunity and we’re trying to give people a chance to see what we can do.” My only advice to Taylor: play aggressive, attack the rim, and defend as if your life depended on it, and you should be fine.
Unless hill doesn't "operate" properly and bud keeps struggling, and Jt isn't really a shooter...which means a lot of misses and no one to rebound. Could be disaster.
