Joe Cheese was drafted 2 years ago, but he's in 2nd year in NBA, so technically he still has 1 more year. ;)

Why do you think I said he’s Bruno in Toronto. The great hope that will eventually bust

    I was referring to:
This is Joe's 2nd season, not third.

imo, this is mostly about players who don't care. We say that it can take three years to develop, but fact is, some players are done the moment they get their first contract. So, they set the standard for the myth "if you can't play in 3 yrs, you will never be able to."

The concept of 3 yrs is merely because that's the length of the first contract..usually.

Those players setting that standard really simply never cared, yet fans are the ones who keep up the hope, but it was never there. They are fine milking that first contract and not caring to improve. Our latest is Onuaku. Chriss is likely another, and Ujiri gave up on Caboclo.

Zhou isn't like that. Kid loves the game and works hard to improve. It's very apparent.

So, it just boils down to can he make it. But he's a keeper on a minimum contract simply because he works so hard, and is so tall, and can make a 3.

At this point Bruno could be the spot backup 5 too. Pretty much where things are trending with everyone downsizing.

Who do y'all think has the highest ceiling between bruno, chriss, zhou, and hartenstein? I hope at least one of them pans out.

The passion for who will play garbage back up center at the end of the game is unreal here

Nene doesnt play b2b so the garbage back up center will have to get atleast some minutes every now and then.

Honestly.... Chriss looked better at the 5 than I thought he would. Looks bigger than I remember as well.

But Harden & CP3 will make just about anyone look 10X better at the 5. So I just got to see what Hartenstein & Zhou look like playing with those two. Bruno certainly impressed, but he was getting knocked around quite a bit on the block. Giving his shooting ability, I think I like him at the 4 a bit more, and really want to keep him if we have the ability to.

Biggest knock that Chriss has going for him is his contract honestly. The Rockets have a tough decision to make, but if he's comparable in any way to the other young bigs, he's not getting his option picked up.

I guess Chriss is in the lead now. Maybe we are showcasing him because he clearly didn't look ready last game. Rockets giving him every opportunity to succeed. He has the highest upside of the trio, and more importantly, highest trade value if he can show something.

This is the one time I actually think they're showcasing a player.

What is the chance for him to be in the category of Ben Simmons or J-Rich?

If Chriss is top prospect, we can get Butler now.

Hartenstein has the best "feel for the game" out of the three, and it isn't close.

Chriss has the best "upside" physically and skillset, as well as best trade value. If he can put it together, but he might not care.

Qi while unique in body type, is the lowest out of the three IMO, especially if you consider the possibility that he's 25/26 years old instead of the listed 23. However, if he can somehow become a contributor, he would have the highest financial upside for the franchise.

Its going to be fun watching all three develop and hoping one takes Nene's spot eventually.

Probably more like hartenstein missed a few practices and a game . I doubt a preseason showcase is going to tip the butler trade .

Didn't mean it had anything to do with Butler, he can't be packaged anyway. Its still useful to re-build his trade value throughout the year for something at the trade deadline. Or heck if he shows something maybe we keep him for ourselves.

Sure , but you are right we cant package him until the 31st . The regular season will have started by then ... we aren't going to play Chriss over hartenstein just to showcase him. If he's playing 2nd string in the reg season that probably means he earned it . We aren't going to risk playing an inferior player . Plus , if we try to showcase him and he does poorly then his value is down the drain
