i feel bad since we made such a big deal to bring him over here. i guess thats business for you. if only he would just retire! ;) anyways, i hope morey can get it done. its great to have a veteran presence on our team, but at this point we really need to trim our roster.

    good luck brent

Damn, I wish we'd dump Cook (though no one wants him), and hold on to Barry for one more year.

    Dumping Cook would be ideal.

I think McGrady's injury hurt Barry as much as it hurt anyone else on the team. A relatively healthy McGrady was the best guy on the team, and among the very best in the league, at creating the type of open Js on which Brent Barry thrive. Guys like David Wesley, Jon Barry, Luther Head, Shane Battier each thrived on these kind of shots.

The guys who replaced McGrady, Artest and Wafer, along with the Rockets PGs simply did not have the kind of ability to draw defense and find open shooters that he had. These guys have skills, but not McGrady level skills. I could be wrong, but it seems the Rockets spot-up shooters had a relative down year collectively last season due to McGrady's absense.

    Damn.

I was hoping he retired as a Rocket, just like his brother and father.

i hope he joins the Clippers....

    Kaman/Camby/Jordan
    Griffin/Smith/Novak?
    Thornton/Butler
    Gordon/R.Davis/Barry
    B.Davis/Telfair/Collins

    Clippers would be 14 strong....

Very very astute post. McGrady not playing really hurt Barry and I totally agree. He's a spot up shooter and Tracy was the only real playmaker on the team last season.

Thank you Brent for helping our team last year have a good year with someone else.

Very insightful take on the situation; Barry didn't perform well at all and you may be on top of the reason why.

It'll probably be a trade for a 2nd round draft pick. Morey's probably trying to clear a little cap space and roster space.

Trade for 2nd rounder. Morey will find a gem that late in the draft anyway. It's a very low key move that doesn't matter much to us anyway. Just clear away Barry as we have too many players. It's simple.

Me too. He picked up Adelman's offense really fast and he could have helped out the younger guys.

I don't think Memphis or Clips have a 2nd round pick. So, if it's for a pick then I hope it's with OKC.

I doubt it's for a player, but if it's one for one then I like Collins, Haddadi, or DJ White.

I was looking at the depth chart yesterday and thinking that we should buy out barry. It's not like we were giving him minutes last year.

Why is Brent Barry desirable to any of those teams?

How about the okc trade i heard. OKC has 5 centers on there roster. This trade is Not all that bad. Wonder if morey could do this.

I like Brent Barry. I like his game, but he just didn't get enough minutes last year to do anything significant.

I'd like to keep him on the team, but I trust Morey. I don't have a choice anyway. :p
