    I think it's because we have Jeremy Lamb and (unfortunately) Kevin Martin. Personally, I liked Courtney Lee, but let's be honest people. He's not really worth that much. He played great for a team that didn't make the playoffs.

    It came down to offering Asik money. With the qualifying offer ALREADY on the table for Lee, the Rockets weren't able to offer the 8mil to Asik because that qualifying offer counts against your cap. They withdrew it and were able to make the offer to Asik.

    Its another gamble Morey is taking. Once Asik signs the offer on the 11th and if Bulls dont match, the rockets are allowed to go over the cap using the bird rights to sign Lee (assuming he hasnt sign by then).

    It's a open secret that Lee has a offer from Houston, people here were too quick to judge the move.
