There would be no drama if Morey's only answer to his terrible off-season thus far hadn't been trashing Parsons and the Mavs' front office/ownership. That's exactly what he did even if indirectly with all this bad contrac talk for 3 days straight to any media outlet willing to listen.

Suck it up and be a good sport. Congratulate the guy then go off and do something constructive like actually fixing this mess instead of all this PR spin, damage control.

I doubt who ever plays backup C will match that productivity... That is why he was paid a ton. Dorsey should at least match that production every now and then, but not as consistent as Asik did.

As for Canaan matching Lin's numbers... I could see him coming very close to that production. Combine that with his price tag and you upgraded your team's chances in the future. Flexibility is no joke.

How did he trash talk them? It was a bad contract to match for him. Even the Mavs said they slightly overpaid and you know that they're biased, so it's more like plain overpaying.

Chandler and his agent were the ones who drew up a contract the Rockets couldn't logically match. They're the ones who screwed up, assuming CP actually wanted to be back.

Imagine if another NBA team spent a few days hunting down every media outlet they could find to speak about Morey's "bad contract" or how wasn't good enough to be a GM that could win a championship?

Should have traded Parsons when he had the chance

Except that Morey was talking about improved team, not flexibility, nor money out of Les' pocket.

It's off season, there is no result to show yet. So we are basing our assessment on paper. How can one spin the current roster On Paper as improved, is beyond me.

Morey is smart and good at analysis, and even good at giving interviews. But since when a GM, a deal maker needs to talk that much over the internet?

Patience goes out the window when you have a win now team and youre steady star gazing and chasing.

Morey has mind control over a lqrge group of Rox fans, time to wake up and start looking in the now and stop hoping for the future.

The window is as long as Howard is in a HOU uniform, place the appropriate pieces and coaches around what we already have and this team is just as good as any.

A better playoffs from Harden, Parsons and McHale and no telling what couldve been.

Morey has developed a detrimental mentality of what a Championship team should look like.

I'm not sure why some of you think Dorsey can't match 8 rebs in 20 mins. Before he matured and played here previously, he was basically grabbing 8-9 in about 21 minutes (projected). I doubt he's regressed in technique and IQ after gaining significant pro experience. At 30, he should be good physically as well, at least for another 2 years or so. His per 36 back then matches Asik's current per 36.

Disappointed we lost out on Bosh.

    Disappointed we lost Parsons.

Would have made us the best team in the league.

But ..... worse than last year????

    Doubt it.

Ariza is gonna stretch the floor and knock down a ton of 3's. He's a better shooter and defender than Parsons. Can't handle. But that's ok. We'll get somebody else to handle.

We'll either have _ones or a better player at the 4.

Canaan is a better player than Lin. (That is if we don't trade him. And if we do trade him it means more than like we've got a better player than Beverley to play the 1.)

We'll miss Asik but we replaced him with not 1 but 2 big time bangers in Adrien and Dorsey. Adrien will fit alongside Dwight a lot better than Asik when we have to defend double bigs. And Dorsey will be fine in a backup center role for 10-15 minutes a night.

And we've got plenty of options. Options are important. Options, options, options. We could go get a stretch-4 tomorrow if we wanted to (Ilyasova, etc.). But we're waiting for something better.

Funny how Morey told Bosh in 2010 the Heat would only be a 45 win team.

Now what is Morey doing? Star chasing, smh. Thats hypocritical.

This coming from a longtime Morey supporter.

He's not saying the team is improved now. He's saying he expects the team to be improved by the playoffs because of potential moves, new additions, and player development.

Dwight played 34 minutes per game.

    Asik played 20.

There are 48 minutes at center.

If Asik only played center, he would have only averaged 14 minutes per game.

But he averaged 20 because he started at PF early in the season and started when Dwight was hurt which brought his mpg up.

If Asik only played 14 minutes as back-up center, he'd only average 5 and a half rebounds per game.

Good production, but not a big impact on the game.

You are right, we are not better, but we are in away better situation. At the end of the day Morey swung for the fences and struck out. As for the talking? I think the media is just focusing more on him and it seems like he is talking alot.

This just about sums it up for me. Unless we make a drastic change in personnel this team will be very similar to last season and a 1st round exit is likely.
