    Nah.

People also remember that in D'Antoni's 2 most successful seasons, 60+ win regular seasons, his hyper-tempo offense couldn't get past the Spurs. Because historically great offense (at the time) still always loses versus a great defensive team.

He tried his gimmick in NYC and Lakerland and it didn't work. Then look at say like Jorger and what he did with the Grizzlies despite having 3 1/2 healthy players for the final stretch of the season. Great coaches elevate their roster and get them to out perform expectations, in my opinion. Great coach, but oh his terrible record was his roster's fault...those 2 things can't co-exist in the same breath.

Les, you are an abomination of an owner.

All about the show ($)....not winning.

Our totals will be around 230 for every game.

    Don't do it.

    Hey......

Communicate with the owner directly, and alone.

Promise the world to the owner.

    Have a silver tongue....

    and

    PROFIT!

One thing is sure for MDA, the Rockets won't be boring because it when things go south (if they do), you can be guaranteed MDA will blame the GM and then the players.

It won't ever be MDA's fault.

If I am in the Rockets front office, I am leasing my home and not buying.

People can take a break and then learn from failure a la Steve Kerr. D'Antoni has multiple failures in NY and LA showing he has not learned anything about how important defense is to a team.

    That is great.

Too bad that Daryl Morey doesn't make the decisions.

    and yet

Seems they are looking for a coach that doesn't believe in playing any defense.

Icing on the cake would be Mike Brown as the defense coach. I would seriously laugh.

The hiring wouldn't be so bad if they hired a guy like Vogol to run the defense.

Are the Rockets trying to do something like co-head coaches?

The Texans (and now Broncos) had a lot of success with two very good coordinators on each side of the ball, I wonder if this is how the Rockets are trying to structure their staff.

They are hiring Pringles so they can Lure Jeremy Lin back and have Linsanity 2.0 for real this time.

My concerns with D'Antoni have nothing to do with his ability to coach. I think that his ability is elite.

As far as which assistants, don't rule out Messina leaving the Spurs as an associate head coach for a boat load of money (no I don't know this for sure, it just makes sense).

Personally if I were the Rockets I would offer Ron Adams as much money as the average NBA head coach and give him the keys to the defense.

The Rockets need assistants that are very hard working and do not take **** from anyone, including MDA.

Les can have his preferred offense but if the team keeps losing because of crappy defense nobody is going to tune in. I wonder who the coach will be in 2018 after they hire D'Antoni.

So stupid. His offense can't coexist with good defense because players simply cannot do both for 48 minutes. This is absolutely guaranteed to fail. I'm losing all interest in the Houston organization at this point.
