(Feigen) - Canaan and Rockets have mutual interest

Absolutely no reason not to bring him back if its on a minimum contract.

 

Jimmer was never lights out from 3 in his brief NBA career and his defense was atrocious.

 

I expected he would be a better offensive player than he's been so far. Mostly, it looks like he has been trying too hard to penetrate and has been taking way too many pullups. Still looks like a fringe rotation player to me.

 

When Canaan played for us he was actually more of a positive than a negative. But as soon as the injured vets returned, he got flushed like a turd.

 

I'd only sign him for little money; I'm not high on him. But him wanting to be here and being familiar with the org and Pringles is a big reason why he'd be a good pickup. The second reason is he's young and still has upside. The third reason is that he's a career 36% 3 pt shooter and if he can get that up a little he'll contribute off the bench.

 

I don't understand why did the Rockets traded him in the first place.

i wouldn't mind canaan back. with harden, we don't need a ball dominate PG. we need one to shoot, and from what i remember, canaan can shoot. But his lack of defense would be a problem next to Harden. Who would guard the quick/strong pg's in this league?

Big mistake not to sign this guy....fits MD's system perfectly. Hate to agree with BasketballHolic but Canaan would have really helped us. Morey always seems to lose out in the end.

 

It's just timing. We have bigger fish to fry right now and Canaan really couldn't afford to pass up the money.

Besides.......if we really need a shooting 1........Brady Heslip is still available.

 

So I'm now getting more and more excited that a sizable trade is coming. No movement on DMo; no signing our rookies; we won't even pick Cannan up for 2 yrs $2.2 mil. They leak they are going after a point guard, maybe via trade...

Don't get you're hopes outside of Clint and Ariza our trade pieces are garbage.

 

According to Morey we are a championship team already so we didn't need him.
