How cool for someone to trade "club" for "nosebleed" to save a kid's b-day! That just made my morning!
What a story! Props to the man who gave up the box office for the boy's birthday. And OP you have a cute kid indeed.
I can't believe Toyota Center initially offered a downgrade of seating choices. Some customer service. Great story.
OUTSTANDING!! Tell ya son HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the ClutchFans! Props to you Anonymous Rockets Fan! Rocket River
Next home game: dozens of on-line claims at the end of the first quarter claim to have a birthday kid and nose-bleed seat mix-up situation. Don't you do it, Clutchfans.
Great.. I had to make an account for this.. I'm the one who offered up my seats. It was really the my honor to be able to help out. I go to games all the time and my favorite thing to do is bring people who have never been or have never sat that close. So when I heard acefan18's situation I wanted to help out. I'm glad your son had a great time! I'm also happy he was able to get a picture with Clutch!
It sounds like his seats were just mixed in with a rambunctious group of kids and he didn't want to sit there. Toyota Center offered other available seats so he could sit somewhere else. One would hope that if equivalent seats were available elsewhere, they would offer those instead of a downgrade, but I have no idea what was available that night. The guy who gave up his seats was awesome, but it doesn't sound like Toyota Center or the Rockets necessarily did anything wrong, if I am understanding the story correctly. Sometimes you just have the bad luck of sitting near obnoxious people.
This is correct. Our seats were occupied by the large group at first, and after a lot of hassle they moved all the kids around and put us in 3 seats between this large group. The kids were all yelling at each other from the other side of the section, and it was a really undesirable location to be in. I don't see it as a Toyota Center issue, I blame the chaperones who were in charge of these kids, who knowingly sat them in seats that did not belong to them.
I sent him the link. He said he tried to comment on here, but his comment had to be reviewed before it was posted. I think he is a long time lurker, but this will be his first post. I hope it gets approved so he can get his props, and reputation points that he deserves.
I hate it when someone is in your seat. Last time I went to a game there were two like 400lb fat dudes in me and my girlfriends seats... We just found other seats. They didn't look nice.
