Inspired by @rocketsjudoka 's thread about having the trouble during the holidays, I thought I would post a thread for feel good stories for the Holidays. They can be from the news or your own, if you want to share. A story I read in the news recently. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/n...n-donors-give-13000-to-help-him-20171121.html And more locally, Mattress Mack at it again: http://abc13.com/community-events/mattress-mack-hosts-big-thanksgiving-feast/2686657/
Our group was able to provide and serve over 70 meals to struggling families yesterday. Last year we did 28. So huge improvement.100 is our 2018 goal. SIL
Thanks for the shoutout and good thread. In the realm of feel good stories mine isn't a big deal. I have a Judo student who is a visiting student from Switzerland who is in the US for the first time, never experienced Thanksgiving and had no plans for Thanksgiving. My family was doing Thanksgiving at a popular restaurants and I wasn't hosting it so couldn't add another to our reservation. When another one of my students heard told her godmother invited him to her house and he had a great time.
A few months ago I changed my homepage to www.goodnewsnetwork.org and it has been a very pleasant alternative. It's amazing how much stress most of us are fed just by scanning the news. I highly recommend a different outlook.
I was able to do the Angry Pirate AND the Angry Dragon this week. She won't answer my calls anymore, but it was worth it.
