    Expansion to multiple partners is not providing equal protection of existing law. As stated above, the system as it stands now, is designed for two partners under tax law, divorce law, rights of survivorship, hospital visitation, military benefits, social security benefits, etc. etc. Allowing for same sex partners is not just rational, it's easy legally; all the same existing laws apply. To have multiple partners would require new definitions and new law for every legal situation; for example if a man dies with two wives who has signatory powers between death and probate? Both wives could rush to clean out the accounts before the other.

    :rolleyes: lol ... because 10 years ago the gay marriage movement had the clout and public and political support to "rebuild the whole legal marriage system"

    Please explain how you would have rebuilt "the whole legal marriage system" and explain how "the gays" should have gone about rebuilding it.
