Sage breathes a huge sigh of relief. I was starting to feel bad for him ... he's a free agent after this season, so if he sits behind Favre all year who knows what happens. He probably signs somewhere else as a backup next year. But now, he'll get a chance to prove himself and maybe become a full-time starter.
I'm dissapointed. I was looking forward to going to the this year's Packers-Vikings game at the Metrodome and hearing the whole stadium boo Favre. The Packer fans because he betrayed them and the Vikings fan because he is getting picked off.
Exactly what I was thinking!! Now that the Favre media frenzy is over, time to move on to the next "big story"!
Does anyone else see the headline on espn.com "Favre passes" and think that he died??? Either its sensationalism at its worst or the title author is a moron.
Odds are he's probably from this board, and a Tmac fan. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=172291
I saw on ESPN last night that his competition for the job is the presumptive starter. I actually thought Sage was 1st in line.
I don't believe any of this. Favre will not show up. I dislike him strongly, but this is beyond even a maniac like him.
I went to ESPN's website since they are always talking about him and found nothing! Then I went to the Vikings page and there was some link to foxsports where a sportswriter (guy's name is Jay Glazer or something like that) is "theorizing" that Favre will be with the Vikings before long. I was like, "Great, now it is getting to the point where the media misses talking about this story so much that they are INVENTING stuff just to get people talking." My only surprise with all this is that the article wasn't written by the biggest Favre lover of them all in Gene Wojciechowski.
That's not an accurate description of Glazer's article. (LOL by the way that you've never heard of Jay Glazer) http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9922912/The-vibe-at-Vikings-camp:-Favre-could-come-back
Glad you got such a good laugh out of that, yankees fan. I am probably the last person who is going to keep up with NFL sportswriters as I would guess I didn't watch one entire NFL game last season in its entirety (the closest game I came to doing that was the Super Bowl). In reference to Favre - it is like someone else was saying about him, I guess he just can't stand Michael Vick hogging all the headlines. If the dude seriously comes back and plays for the Vikings, he has serious mental problems and issues.
