    Bill Hicks
    Lenny Bruce
    Richard Pryor
    David Cross

Mitch Hedberg's great but I can't put him up with those other guys. Dave Chappelle will make that list for me before long. Steven Wright's pretty funny. Some of the old Steve Martin records are good - particularly Let's Get Small.

For me though, no one touches Bill Hicks. I saw him live four or five times before he died. His death (along with L Bruce's) was about the worst thing that ever happened to comedy. I would love to hear what he'd have to say about the last few years. If you haven't heard this guy, you're really missing out.

1.) Bill Hicks (and yes, Ninja Bachelor Party rules!)
    2.) Richard Pryor
    3.) George Carlin
    4.) Chris Rock

Hicks' general perspective on ALL aspects of life is intuitive and hilarious. he's the logical progression from Lenny Bruce (Bruce-->Carlin-->Hicks) IMO.

I heard that Sagat swears a lot in his actual standup, despite the clean image he had for all those years on Full House. Is it true?

I laughed for ten minutes after that bathroom scene in Dumb and Dumberer.

Jonathan Winters, George Carlin, and Eddie Izzard.
I saw Winters in Houston many years ago and got to shake his hand backstage. I don't know if I ever saw anyone else as funny in person, although Carlin would probably be a close second. Izzard is just incredibly intelligent, hilarious comedy. He makes history a riot, and that's not easy to do.

    George Carlin

And then, I can't really think of any other standout favorites. Lots of other really great ones, but Carlin is the only guy I can watch every single night, no matter how many times I've seen the set. Thank you, HBO Comedy. :)
