Shar-pei's are the best. Great fighting dogs. Loyal and intelligent and not too hyper active. Huskies are my 2nd favorite. Too bad I don't live in a Tundra climate or I'd get one
All three of my family's dogs are rescued. The first, Emily, is half chow, half golden retriever - she was rescued from a dog pound who had horrible horrible living conditions. She's the only one that we've really had grow up with us, and she's such a sweet dog, but she sheds like a biatch! The second, Zeke, is half greyhound, half golden retriever - we got him as a playmate for Emily from the SPCA. He was incredibly shy, but already house trained, but he's the biggest most vocal (not like barking, but making all kinds of goofy sounds) goofball of a dog I've ever met. The third, Tan, is a little mutt dog - our neighbor brought her home off an offshore oil rig she was stranded on. She was worse off than Emily when we got her, but antibiotics, and pet meds fixed everything and now she's sometimes spunky, but most of the time she's still terrified of peopel.... We'll fix that soon.
Dachsunds are nice. We also have some Labradors as well and they're big, goofy animals. But my vote would have to be for Dachsunds. They're loyal, not smelly and have an almost cat-like detached personality. Besides, how can you beat a weiner dog?
I've got to go with my very own as it's all I know: Unfortunately, they get the sofa. LOL. Thing I hate about (my) Rhodesian Ridgebacks after a while is their always in squirrel hunting mode. I think these are RoxRan's dogs. Isn't he the squirrel eater/hunter? Hehe. Damn those squirrels! They hate these squirrels! It's all about the ridge. It's so cool and peculiar . Damn those squirrel hunting dogs. Damn them all to hell. Damn you! Going home -> ^.
Golden Retrievers Labrador Retrievers are a close second. It's not even close with these two. I believe they are the best dogs by far.
