We have the exact same thing, except I was the only one who would ever eat more than a spoonful or two, so the fam switched to Lime Jell-o instead of pistacio pudding, yech. I recently convinced them to switch back, since not many more people went for the crappy version.
Actually, I'm not much into traditional Thanksgiving type foods. (Not even the sweet potatoes, though I will eat the marshmallows off the top.) One thing that was OK was the salad type thing we called "that" because nobody knew the real name for it. I believe it has - sour cream or something white?, marshmallows, mandarin oranges, coconut, and pineapple. "That" is pretty good. Usually, growing up, I only ate a little of the usual stuff and then had slices of about three different desserts. It helps to have a big family gathering and serve it buffet-style. I did notice that the women spent all day in the kitchen making the food while the men sat around talking and watching the game. I didn't think that was fair. Still don't; never did turn into one of those cooking homebody types. Guess I should go turn in my woman card. Usually we go to a place like Golden Corral or Barnhill's on T-Day these days. Saves everybody the trouble and you still get the food.
