My favorite team besides the Rockets are ANY Eastern Conference team facing another of the playoff contenders in the West.
I don't have another favorite team, but I enjoy watching Sacremento, Dallas and New Jersey play. They play a very team oriented game...and hey look what do you know...they all have winning records. Coincidence? I think not. DaDakota
Got a small spot for the Grizzlies (since i'm from vancouver)...but my favorite teams other than the Rockets are probably Sacramento, LA Clippers, and i think i mighta joined the Wizards bandwagon.
I know almost everyone here hates them, but I like the Lakers. I don't like the Kings. I just think that they don't have the character/charisma to be NBA Champs.
I never knew charisma was what it took...i always thought it was talent. And also...i'd love to see the Kings take it all...cuz that means that there's more Tyra to watch on the sidelines .
Magic. Well, Tmac really. He's my favorite player by far so whatever team he's on is my favorite team. Now that Hill, another favorite, is actually playing, makes them that much more fun to watch. Just hope that he stays healthy.
hell yeah, i like the Lakers over the Kings anyday. It used to be reversed but now the Kings think they're the champions but they haven't won anything. Lakers in 6.
Utah Jazz nah ... Actually I don't have another favorite team. I am very loyal to the Rockets. Speaking of loyalty, ahem ... I like watching the Kings and Mavs. Hate it when they win, though.
It does take a certain character to win, and the Kings don't have it. Vlade Divac is one of the LAST people I'd like to see winning the NBA championship. Same goes for Webber. I like Bibby, and Stojakovic is OK, but the rest I just hate. If Divac wins the NBA right after the World Championship, then that mouth won't stop yapping for years. The only way the Lakers lose is if Kobe or Shaq is not playing or very injured and playing. Otherwise, here's a nice scenario: Sacramento struggle to beat the Lakers with one injured star, then they already start celebrating (Orlando right before Houston swept their asses), but then go on to lose to the Nets. Ina Nets vs. Sacramento game, I'd have to go with the Nets. Their defense is so much better, and they have the advantage in so many positions: Mutombo would render Divac USELESS, K-Mart can easily keep Webber in check, Stojakovich would, admittedly, win the SF matchup, and CHristie would win the SG matchup, but Kidd would destroy Bibby. Sacramento's defense will be exposed.
A true Rockets fan can not like theLakers, Spurs, Mavericks or Celts... Ther is no way you can be true rockets fan and like those teams... Spurs and Mavericks should be hated because they are from texas and they want to believe they are the best in the state... and the Lakers and Celts will always be are enemy... You can not rute for them
Now that is a value stated as a fact. That is your opinion and I dont agree with it. I am a true Rockets fan and I like the Lakers. watching them hit clutch shots in the playoffs is an exciting thing to watch....reminds me of the Rockets in the mid 90s. i also like the Wizards, mainly because I want to see MJ dominate again (except when he plays the Rockets) I don't like the Kings either. Their fans are too biased just like Jazzfans are. I also dont like the Spurs or Sonics.
I second that. Sac for their teamplay, Dallas for the scoring, and New Jersey for Kenyon Martin! If I was a player, that's how I would play (Martin).
I don't "rute" for those teams, we are basketball fans. Some people are purist and we will always be fans of the sport. When I was a kid I used to hate the Dodgers, Mets, Lakers, Celtics, Broncos, Bills and Cowboys... But as an adult, I stepped back and learned why those teams were able to win and why the Oilers, Rockets and Astros were not able ("Know thy enemy") Then I realized that there was a better way. The old way wasn't working.
