If 11/22/63 is ever turned into a movie, that should be a great one. Awesome book.

The Shining. Second? The TV mini-series of The Stand.

Most of the movies turn out a little too campy for my liking, but Shawshank and The Shining capture the tone of the books perfectly. The Green Mile is phenomenal as well. I hope they turn 11/22/63 into a movie, but it has to have a solid director with a good cast.

    Definitive list, in order:

    Shawshank
    Shining
    Stand By Me
    Dead Zone
    Pet Sematary
    Carrie
    Apt Pupil
    Misery
    Mist
    Silver Bullet
    Cujo

The rest are ****, and I do not recognize made-for-tv stuff. "It" and "The Stand" deserve better. HBO better.

I've neither seen nor read "Hearts in Atlantis", and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
