I started this poll to get everybody's opinion on their favorite person in the 30 year history of Saturday Night Live. I only named the first 9 that came to mind and put a very big other at 10 because there are so many people to choose from.

Oh yeah, it has to be somebody that is no longer on SNL, hence the alumni part of the title.

I'm not voting because so many of the people on that poll are funny in so many different ways. Too hard to choose one or even 4.

I really think you should have taken some time with this instead of just the first names that came to mind. I mean, you left off some pretty important people. Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey come to mind. How could you pick Jim Belushi over John? I don't mean to be too harsh, it's just that this could have been a really interesting poll.

Hey Pun, maybe a better poll would be voting on favorite SNL casts. Might take a lil longer to dig up all the info, but it would be interesting.

edit: didn't mean better as in "your poll sucks". lol. just that it might be easier to choose a fav cast rather than an individual. :)

Tracy Morgan will be on Sports Radio 610 tommorow during the morning show.

My favorite cast was from the early 90s.

This has to be the funniest cast:

    Dana Carvey
    Nora Dunn
    Phil Hartman
    Jan Hooks
    Victoria Jackson
    Jon Lovitz
    Kevin Nealon
    Dennis Miller

And Dennis Miller is probably the funniest guy. At least, he has to be the best guy EVER to do the weekend news.

Norm McDonald, is still the best... Tim Meadows to me comes in second... "HEY, IT'S BURING MY SKIN!!!!" "Tell me about it,... that's how you know it's a shirt"

    Ditto.

I just don't see the humor in pretty much anything that came post-Sandler/Spade/Farley/Schneider/etc. I say this in all honesty, I don't think Will Ferrell is funny.

maybe b/c i was young and that's really the only time i watched it semi-regularly, but the early 90's cast of sandler, carvey, meyers, spade, farley (matt foley was genius), nealon, hartman, lovitz, shneider, etc was the best. not postiive they were all on at the same time but they were all from then. look how many of them actually had respectable careers from that group (with meyers and sandler having been in really big movies) and hartman being on newsradio.

i don't really watch now but outside of ferrell none of the current cast strikes me as anyone who's going on to bigger things. but maybe i'm wrong.

    Lil Pun:

Please, for the love of god, google the all time casts of SNL and create a new poll. I don't care if it's cast members or casts, but this one's silly. Will Ferrell the funniest guy ever on SNL? In a runaway? Proof your poll's flawed. Deeply. I love Will Ferrell, by the way, but there are probably ten people who should be outpolling him. I look forward to the new, improved poll.

Everybody has the cast they grew up with. Mine was the first cast (and Belushi -- JOHN Belushi -- has my vote for best cast member ever), but I've certainly appreciated the others. Among the one you cited, it'd be a tough race between Hartman and Farley. I think they both kicked the hell out of the rest of that cast, even though the whole group was really, really good.
