Almost all of my favorites have been mentioned, but one I haven't seen is the Kramerica Industries episode where Kramer gets his own intern. Also, see my sig..........
That's probably my favorite overall. It's actually a 2-parter with George's storyline. Where he gets an office job(can't remember co. name) because they think he's handicapped. The end of the 1st part is hilarious, where he insults some elderly people, and they all chase him(gang-style) on their motorized elderly-scooters(George is on one too). They're going down the sidewalk at about 1mph. Finally George's battery runs out so he picks it up, and runs with it(about 3 times as fast as riding on it). Then his boss sees him, and realizes he's not handicapped. He tells him to be in his office first thing in the morning. By then the elderly gang has caught up, and the leader hits George with his cane. "Eat Wood!!!" Then the next show they try to lock George out of his office so he can't get to work, and he goes in through the ac vent. Kramer, and his Kraymerica intern want to try out their oil tanker bladder system so George lets them come to his company, and fill a giant rubber ball with oil, and drop it from the 2nd/3rd story window. Jerry is meeting his girlfriend there, the one he made fun of, saying her *$%^&@ made a noise(Hellooooooooo). She's standing on the street right as Kramer drops his oil-filled ball. Jerry yells hello trying to warn her, but she thinks he's still making fun of her. She finally looks up just as the ball is arriving at her head/face. Ouch. The Mendelbaum ep. is probably my 2nd fav. One of my favorite lines is at the end of the show with the wedding in India. Where it starts at the end, and works backwards in time. At the end they go back like 10 years to where Jerry is first moving in. He meets Kramer, and tells him he will share his things with him. "Anything I have, help yourself". Then it ends with Kramer eyeing everything in the apartment mindfully saying "Oh yeah?".(baaaaaad move Jerry) And for the record I found the final episode severely wanting. About the only finale I can think of I liked less was the one of the last Star Trek series(Scott Bakula one).
I love how the people walking on the sidewalk are actually moving faster than the scooters. I must be the only one who hates the backwards wedding in India episode. I always change it when that one comes on.
Yea, I never cared for that one much either. They showed the Friar's Club episode the other night (one I haven't seen countless times). I liked how Pat Cooper is in the episode and asks George, "Are you an entertainer? Then why am I even talking to you?"
I have it bookmarked, but it's an old piece, and automatically goes to the Salon "Insider" area. Tried archive.org, to no avail.
It was pretty good, even if the author was in love with his own voice. He wasn't a fan during the initial run, thought it was too whiny and self-absorbed. Clicking through the re-runs one night, he watched the scene where George tells a woman who had asked him if he wanted to come up to her apartment for coffee, "no, coffee keeps me up." The utter embarrassment and discomfort the scene created kept him coming back for more. He watched all the re-runs, tracked down unseen episodes, and fell in love with the finale -- four years after its initial showing. It was part of Salon's "Masterpiece" series, which sadly, they discontinued after like four articles. It detailed the Grand Canyon, the Stones' "Beggars Banquet," and something else I can't recall. EDIT: tried again, and I got a few links that work.
I'm going to quote the article here, archive.org can be up and down sometimes, so I'll always have it here.
Serenity Now is easily in my top 5 of all time... when Kramer puts the screen door and flag on his door in his apartment, simply classic!
I can't pick my favorite one at this time, but the best part about Seinfeld was there weren't any "special" episodes. Someone dies, oh well, someone on drugs, whatever.
Two things that I always liked about Seinfeld: 1) The bit characters were absolutely hilarious (some bit characters were larger than others like Newman, Peterman, Mickey Abbott, Kruger, Jackie Chiles, etc.) - I would argue that it was the bit characters that made the show as great as it was. 2) I always liked how (for the most part) the storylines for Jerry would always connect in some way with the storylines for George, Kramer, and Elaine. Example - last night they showed the one with Jean Paul, the marathon runner from Trinidad and Tobago. Elaine was supposed to look after him and make sure he didn't miss his race this time. Jerry becomes obsessed about making sure that Jean Paul doesn't miss the race and doubts that Elaine can handle it. George meets with Astros executives who call every person a b*stard or SOB. This rubs off on him and he winds up saying that casually giving Jean Paul the impression that is common stuff to say. Kramer gets this huge heat pump put into his apartment. Well, Jean Paul (thanks to George) makes a comment to one of Elaine's neighbors about her baby, gets thrown out by the super and stays with Jerry. But thanks to Kramer's heatpump, he almost misses the race AGAIN. That is just one example but they did that consistently (at least starting with season 3 or so maybe sooner) all the time. I always enjoyed how they did that.
Another I like is when jerry and george meets elaine's father. I always liked the steinbrenner character, his voice was hilarious.
I like all of em, but I like the one where Kramer put on butter and fell asleep on the roof and........ "Oh man, I think I cooked myself." - Kramer "I'm fried." "Technically, you're sauteed. So what are you doing for that?" "I just gotta keep my skin moist so I don't dry out." "Is that what the doctor said?" "I read an article in Bon Apetit Magazine." - Kramer and Jerry, in "The Butter Shave" Here is a cool link for all the quotes.... Link
Last night they had the Kenny Roger's Roaster episode on. I'd have to put that one in my top 5. By Menen!!!! Costanza!!!!
Probably the Germaphobe episode, where Kramer installs a gabage disposal in his shower. Either that, or the one with "The Move" where Puddy steals Jerry's move and George has to write crib notes so he can do it.
