Someone should suggest baker st. I say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nCT18u7RsRc but admit I could be biased (by sade's movements).
May I suggest "Careless Whisper" <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GaoLU6zKaws" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Been meaning to start a thread and ask about this. Is there any song that hasn't been made better or improved with a sax solo??? I think a sax solo could move a terrible song up from an F to a D or C in song grading. And to the OP- I'm always biased when it comes to Sade and her movements.
Yes you may. in retrospect I would have been disappointed if that one hadn't been suggested right off, well done. if you can't take it all, at least start at 3:30, to warm up for the 4;00 & 5.45 solos. With sade's ass. She can't give you more than that. Surely you want it back- Tell me, is it a crime? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-SHfpm5Bxk

I'm going to be honest with you guys at this point- it was nothing more than a sade thread from the start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TYv2PhG89A Apologies.
There's too much I could post jazz-wise right now, but I'll start with this epic solo from a 21 year old Lenny Pickett (guy from the SNL Band) on "Knock Yourself Out" from the Tower of Power album "Live and in Living Color". When I say Epic, I mean it's a killer 9 minute long solo. Check out the circular breathing that starts around 9:12. No normal breaths for well over a minute. Solo starts at 1:40 <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/o4ao7AEsc0g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And let me also plug my friend and teacher Bob Reynolds (John Mayer's sax player) with a track (featuring John) from his (hopefully) soon to be released new album. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YeJZSdw2oBI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This is also pretty damned awesome. Also, check out David Ryan Harris if you've never heard of him. Really good stuff. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PE0Sq91GXz4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What a letdown... I entered this thread thinking it was "Favorite sex solos". I had no idea what to expect, but music was the last thing on my mind. Buzzkill.

How could this thread be without this? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/t1kApnsayeQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Sonny Stitt's solo on "The Eternal Triangle" is my favorite rhythm changes solo and one of my favorites of all time overall. Sonny Rollins takes the first solo but Stitt's starts at 2:55. This was one of my first jazz albums. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7jrnihGqumE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> My favorite current sax player is a guy named Joel Frahm (who's coming to Houston in March). I just finished learning this solo from a Jane Monheit DVD. Starts at 1:53. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bqeiJZrQFp8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Here's him with a group called Pandeiro Jazz doing Stevie Wonder's "Big Brother" <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8JXZqVCFIlI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And here he is with another vocalist doing a jazz version of the Beatles' "In My Life". Solo starts at 1:57. Really awesome stuff. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/IbGK4bFbaH0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
A personal favorite (Sax solo starts at 5:00): <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cHf7DvVpeiU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I love the one on Michael Franks song "Samba Blue" as well as Kenny G's "Forever in Lov"e and "Sade."
