Going to San Antonio for the Rockets/Spurs game on 12/28. Would like to stay directly on the riverwalk if possible. There is a large selection of hotels. Anyone here have any particular recommendations?

    Thanks!

Westin Riverwalk was pretty good. It's a couple of blocks walk away from the Rivercenter mall.

The Marriott is right off the Rivercenter mall with easy access to the highway and to the Riverwalk. Great views of the City and of the Alamodome.

It was great to stay at the Riverwalk hotels when the games were at HemisFair or at the Alamo dome.

Last time we were in San Antonio, we stayed at the Palacio del Río. It's got an Irish pub down to the River level and the customer service is great. If you're lucky you will get a nice view of Hemisfair Park and the Marriott.

You do know the AT&T isn't close, right? Just wondering...

I second this. Real nice hotel. Walking distance from everything.

I've stayed at the Homewood Suites on the riverwalk a few times and I liked it. Good location and the rooms are nice.

Used to stay at the Hyatt as a kid. I always thought it was a cool place. Of course I didn't know much of anything back then. Not that I do now...

I'm also a fan of the Marriot Rivercenter. As a kid my parents used to take us there every year for a mini vacation and we'd do our school shopping there in the mall.

Riverwalk Vista, a nice little bed and breakfast the wife and I have gone to for a couple of years now, just across the street from the Riverwalk (on Losoya). The rates are pretty fair depending on the size of the room you book ($125-225) a night. The downside is the parking garage that is 1/2 block away and costs $20 bucks a day.

I came for a quick weekend getaway to the riverwalk. I'm staying at the emily morgan hotel which overlooks the alamo. They say is haunted. Will check out natural cavern and wildlife later this morning. I also bought tickets for that ripleys odditorium to see tonight. Debating if should do seaworld and fiesta texas. What ya say?
